The Old Florida Sampler is a must try. It is tasty, crispy and included fried frog legs, cat fish and alligator bites that can be shared for two people. The frog legs will be memorable since they were my favorite thing on the plate. Not only were the frog legs perfectly cooked and succulent, it also had the best breading I have ever had. The gator bites were tender and had some mild spice to them so if you don't like spice then I do not recommend ordering this. The catfish was flaky. The home made tartar sauce wasn't your typical tartar but was an even better version of it. The swamp sauce is a horseradish based sauce. We passed by this restaurant several times without giving it much thought, but after doing a quick Google search, we decided to give it a try one night and ordered takeout. The food was ready in no time, and everyone was very friendly. We had the black fish salad and the catfish basket, and both were delicious. The fish in the salad was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the Italian dressing was fantastic. Since our initial visit, we've returned 4-5 times for both dining in and takeout, and we've never been disappointed. I highly recommend checking out this spot for a great atmosphere, tasty food, and relaxing vibes.
This is the ultimate culinary experience on the water in Florida! Our server, Sarah, was incredibly gracious, courteous, and funny. We truly enjoyed being at their establishment. The menu featured Florida-inspired options such as gator, frog legs, and catfish. After indulging in appetizers, we wish we had saved room for dessert next time! We had a really good experience at Gator bays. We have been looking for a place in lake county that had wings that we liked and wasn't happy with the places we tried. The wings here were awesome, I recommend the secret swamp sauce. We met some friends there. The service was great and to top it off it was karaoke night and it was very entertaining.. anyway if you are looking for awesome wigs this is the place
The food was quite good, but the wait time was ridiculous—27 minutes after we placed our order. Additionally, our waitress seemed to vanish; I had to hunt her down for every drink refill, and it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks back. It's unfortunate because the poor service is overshadowing the quality of the food in these reviews. I might just stick to takeout from now on. LOL.
Beautiful day, Florida “laid back enjoy life” atmosphere! These type of places are plentiful and for most part good people. Have a couple blood Marys (ain’t noon yet LOL) and SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN onsite.
