I went for a motorcycle ride and decided to find a quiet place for lunch. Gene's restaurant was where I decided. When I came in, I immediately felt like in a local, southern restaurant. Nothing from the feeling of a chain restaurant this place had many local pictures, news articles and decorations. The long tables encouraged a sense of community, almost like a church tower. The server was pleasant, there were many options on the menu, and I was treated with respect. It was nice to sit there and watch people interact with their lives and go on. Gene 's definitely feels like one of these local color locations that seems to be more and more difficult to find. I think I'll make it a regular stop...
First time visit. It was recommended by literally everyone I know. It was a bit hard for me to find at first. Inside, I found the cafe vs buffet style a bit confusing at first. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and patient though. The food was excellent, and the service was really quick. I'll definitely be going back! I go to this restaurant since I was something and I enjoyed it every time I was there! The owners are very friendly, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! When you go to the restaurant, there are memories of Chester all over the place! My grandpa also loved this place and the pig dogs are for dying! You feel like your big family when you enter this restaurant! Go out, many options on the bar!

The food and service were great. I got the meatloaf Friday special with corn, pinto beans, and scalloped potatoes. For desert I got a piece of cake with chocolate icing. Everything tasted delicious.
Good South Home Cook, servers are friendly and efficient. I had an omelette with bacon and my husband had the western Omelet. It was all delicious!
I loved everything except my food had no salt. As soon as I added the salt, my food was straight. Great atmosphere and very friendly service.
