The restaurant is separated into two sections the Mongolian grill and the buffet area that serves Chinese hot foods. It should be noted that they do not serve Mongolian food here at Genghis Khan Mongolian Grill. Rather, it's a borrowed concept from the legend of the great warrior, Genghis Khan, from the 13th century. Decent, won't call it great. Though it has the word"Mongolian" in its name, it's more of a typical "fake" Chinese food restaurant. The price is acceptable. The food is, well fake Chinese food that are made to fit most western people's taste buds. It's too sweet and too simple to become Chinese food. The "Mongolian Grill" they serve is just meat cooked on a hot huge metal sheet, really nothing special unless you enjoy eating a piece of the scrub comes from this iron board that aged for days. This place is a family favourite. For those who haven't been, it is an all you can eat Chinese food stir fry, where you select all your protein, veg, noodles and a variety of sauces from a long buffet table, and then watch one of their cooks heat all you ingredients on a giant, round, flattop grill. There are also several tables with more conventional Chinese buffet offerings, if you are not interested in the stir fry. <br/ <br/ There were a dozen of us there in Sunday, celebrating two birthdays. There were carnivores, vegetarians, and omnivores in our group, and the format allowed everyone to meet their specific needs.
It’s probably been at least 6 years since I’ve visited a Mongolian Grill – Genghis Khan (Facebook Instagram: @mongolianbbqTO (This visit being my second time ever! The concept of “all you can eat” slightly frustrates me in the sense that I feel I never eat enough. Another reason being I’m a very indecisive person (It would probably be hours before I finally decide on what I want to eat . Nonetheless, 2 weeks ago, I decided to put all my reasons aside and just go indulge in an epic feast!
I love picking my own meats, vegetables, noodles and sauces, then watching them cook your noodles into a tasty dish on the big round mongolian grill. I recommend getting 1 bowl for your noodle and sauces and one bowl for your meats and vegetables. The buffet section isn't anything special so i usually just stick with the noodles. The chocolate fondu and shaved ice is also a nice way to end the meal.
As I brought my finished bowl back to my seat to try it, I was impressed with how thoroughly cooked the noodles and chosen toppings were. It was incredibly hot and grilled thoroughly too — that fire grill is something else! I thought that my noodle creation was delicious and I would have gone back for a second round right away if not for wanting to try out the rest of the buffet selections.
I had a unique experience at this place! The buffet offered a large selection including dessert which included a chocolate fountain. You pick your own meats, veggies, noodles and sauces in a bowl. Cooks there then cook the food for you in front of your eyes on a giant hot stove. Its wide range of food is perfect for vegetarians and meat-eaters.
Amazing!! come here!!. This place is amazingly clean, huge variety, wonderful service, great value for money. They have a chocolate fonude fountain for dessert...there's something wrong with you if you're not here in the next 10 minutes. Unless you live really far away.
Good buffet for stir fry lovers. You grab your noodles or rice. Meats and veggies, choose a sauce and then they make it for you on a hot table. Not much variety after the stir fry.
