Had dinner here tonight as we were in the neighborhood. We had previously visited once before with friends. Both experiences were fantastic. The place itself is on the smaller size, we took the last table the first time we visited, second time was quieter. Thoughtfully decorated and very clean. Service was good, faster the first time, but second had a larger party with a child's birthday, so understandable. But all that said, you're here for the sushi, and this restaurant delivers. Freshest fish, prepared very well, and for a reasonable price even by post pandemic measures. I would highly recommend Genji if you're in the area and looking for great sushi.
Another yummy sushi spot, it's probably closer to the lower cost point but the sauces for the rolls were pretty amazing. The ratios for fish and rice were spot on in the maki, sashimi is nicely sized and the interior has a very classy feel. Another Korean operated joint that is just excellent for the area. It was my brother in law's birthday and even tried sake. There is no specific kind, but it was warm, sweet and not too harsh on alcohol. It's a great spot for whenever we are in the area or on the way to the theater. Value is excellent!
The restaurant had a good atmosphere, but when we ordered sushi and maki for $39, the issue arose when they put a lot of wasabi inside without informing us beforehand. Normally, sushi should have optional wasabi, in case one prefers to add it. Unfortunately, the excessive spiciness caught me off guard, and I couldn't continue eating, so I politely mentioned the problem to one of the staff members after paying. Sadly, they ignored our concerns, making it a disappointing and unpleasant experience for me
A hidden gem! You would never expect the classy and high-quality food, decor, and service that Genji offers, if you had to guess from its outward appearance in a strip plaza. I was pleasantly surprised by its elegant interior, and the food and service were both excellent. Having been spoiled by Vancouver sushi, I rarely find anything in Ontario that I like as much as this. I'll definitely be coming again! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Let me tell you that I’ve never seen such a nice fish to rice ratio. When you bite into it you get so much fish I was actually flabbergasted.It’s a little but off ways, but if you’re ever in the area and are craving sushi, I’d recommend this place for sure!! Be sure to get the rolls and you’ll see what I mean :PLike LOOK it’s literally BURSTING FISH
Juliette was a terrific server. Last few times service was very poor, today was wonderful and the food was exceptionally good. The california and dynamite rolls were very fresh and tightly rolled.Thank you Genji Sushi.
The food was really good and the tuna was really red and delicious.??The California Roll I had was yummy and the layer of rice was just right. I recommend this place to everyone !!
