My husband and myself were guests in a party of 99 people. Our party was booked for 7pm for 7.30 sit down. Meals had been pre booked. There were two waiting staff for 99 guests. No blame on the waiting staff, but management was non existent. We received our starter course at about 8.15pm. Guests took it upon themselves to collect the plates to return them to the end of the room to save the waiting staff time. Mains arrived at 9.30pm, some of which were returned as inedible. We were a party of 6 ladies that had pre booked a Christmas lunch. From getting there and the waitress not knowing what we had ordered and had to go find out several times. They didn't know what drinks were available, the quality of the wine was very poor! I ordered a prawn cocktail starter that come out looking awful! 2 Pieces of limp lettuce with some undressed prawns and a blob of mayonnaise, no seafood sauce, no bread all served on a side plate. The main was seabass, it was edible but I have to say the best thing on that plate was the Bussell sprouts.... I recently dined at this restaurant and found the food to be decent, but the atmosphere of the dining room is lackluster. The staff, although friendly, seemed very inexperienced. One young waiter carelessly handed a hot main course plate to one of us instead of coming around to place it on the table. As a result, our friend ended up burning her fingers. There was no follow-up from the staff to check if we needed any additional condiments or assistance.
I spent three nights at the George Hotel meeting my friends. All the staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I was on my own and felt very safe and wanted. All the food my friends and I had was hot, well presented and delicious. The room I had was very comfortable and ideal for me as it was in the courtyard which meant I didn't have to climb many steps.

I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the restaurant, so I ultimately decided not to stay. It felt neglected, dirty, and in need of a major renovation. The room did not meet the standards I had anticipated, despite providing my dog with his own bed. His bed actually looked more inviting to sleep in than the room itself.
We celebrated a relative's 70th birthday during lunchtime at this centrally located restaurant in Huntingdon town, near the station and bus routes. The historical building, dating back hundreds of years, has been beautifully refurbished with excellent décor. The food was fantastic and catered to all tastes.
A very enjoyable experience. Lovely meal, well cooked. My lasagne had a very tasty cheese topping the bakewell tart and custard was beautifully presented. Very much appreciated the personal touch of the staff who went out of their way to ensure we had everything we wanted.
Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Lovely staff (especially breakfast waitress), food excellent especially breakfast. The only downside is that the hotel needs a bit of tender loving care, but the building is very old so a never ending job! We would stay here again.

Fantastic hotel it is large spacious for a old building steeped in history,staff are all helpful and friendly and can't be more helpful,food is excellent and not at all expensive generous breakfast with plenty of choice
Staying here for 3 nights initially for business seeing if I can shorten it room very dated. Very small and freezing cold with no heating.
