We've been visiting George's Southside Restaurant for years and have consistently enjoyed both the food and the personal service. The Mediterranean salads here represent the finest Mediterranean cuisine we've experienced, even compared to our time in Greece. One day, we mentioned to the former owner that we struggled to find an authentic Greek salad in Colombia, and he said he would check with the kitchen to see if they could prepare one, even though it wasn't on the menu. Today, we decided to give it a try, and the server kindly took our request to the kitchen. Peter, the owner, personally made a few for us, and they were delicious and authentic. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
I really enjoyed my meal here. I've learned that this is an old truck-stop diner that has stood the test of time. Local patrons frequent it, and I believe that as new truck stops focus more on fast food, the younger generation is missing out on the charm of traditional truck stop food. The portions are generous, and there’s plenty of room to park a truck on the side of the road. Next time, take the opportunity to experience how things used to be; it’s a relaxing escape from the usual hustle and bustle.
Raced to get there before closing at 2:30pm. Walked in at 2:19pm and was rudely told we are already closed. Only seen this lady one other time.Called to talk to George as I was driving off. Not there. Was told they closed early because they ran out of some sides. I was going to do a carry out and like most things on the menu. Pretty sure if she hadn’t been so rude, we could have come up with something to eat. Doubt they ran out of potato salad! I usually tip 1/2 to the full bill. LOST A CUSTOMER!!!
Hitting the only non chain option I saw for breakfast. Glad I was willing to go a bit out of my way. I was between normal breakfast and lunch hours but fortunately the breakfast menu was still open. Good food and fast friendly service even though I could tell they were trying to get the lunch prep done. I’ll be back
This is the best sloppy spoon in the area! The breakfast is fantastic, featuring delicious meat and three sides. There's always a generous portion of food, and the locals are very friendly. Highly recommended!
This is the BEST local diner around! The food is true to traditional Southern fare, and the staff are genuine and welcoming! Love this place!! Kid-friendliness: Great place for families!
Fantastic service and incredible food! The prices are excellent! Parking can be a bit limited, but once you find a spot, head inside and enjoy a meal.
Great food! The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with designated handicap parking available at the front.
