This is one of the many Italian restaurants in Bronx's Little Italy off Arthur Ave. We had just finished moving our son into Fordham for the year and took time to celebrate his birthday with some school friends. I chose Gerbasi because it was on Open Table and the ease making a reservation. We had appetizers: traditional antipasto Italiano, octopus salad, and mozzarella caprese. All very good with fresh ingredients. For dinner I had chicken piccata and my wife had veal marsala. The chicken piccata was perfect, but the veal marsala was a little salty. We had never been to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx and didn't know where to eat. There were just a few reviews on Open Table for Gerbasi and we took a chance. We were greeted with enthusiasm, seated quickly and had a glass of wine offered to us immediately. I generally don't love chianti but we were served the best chianti we have ever had. We started with a shared order of fettucini Alfredo which was made with homemade pasta and was excellent, although very filling before our entrees. This visit was our third or fourth visit to Gerbasi's. The food is excellent and very authentic. We love how it is popular with families and locals. The wait staff is always very friendly and professional. The restaurant is conveniently located and is great for family dinners as well as gatherings with friends. We will often come here to eat before or after shopping the Arthur Avenue Market and other local Italian specialty food shops. It's near Fordham University, the Bronx Zoo and Botanical Gardens; a great neighborhood and a neighborhood gem!
I love this place. Been here many times. I always bring friends who are coming to Arthur Avenue for the first time. Egg Plant Rollatini appetizer is fantastic. Barolo meat balls excellent. All main dishes great. George the waiter is a jewel.. outdoor patio wonderful. It's a must try.

Went to diner here and sat in the patio. Food was delicious and service was great. The server was knowledgeable of the specials. The food came out on time and was cooked to perfection.
the owner and chef changed the food was not good at all. the service and atmosphere were average. very disappointed used to love coming here for delicious meals. will not return
Wait staff was very attentive.. and very accommodating . I'd go there again and recommend others to try it .
Our favorite place in Little Italy in the Bronx, the food is great and George makes it extra special.
