Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience at Gertrude. We encountered some billing issues during our visit. We ordered a soda that was priced at $10 on the menu, but we ended up being charged $12, which was increased from the original price. The most unexpected part was the $5 cover charge per person, which was presented to us after we had placed our order. However, I do appreciate that our waitress kindly only charged us half of that fee since we only had one drink. On a positive note, the jazz music was quite delightful, particularly the talented pianist who also played the trumpet simultaneously.
We hosted our wedding reception at Gertrude in February 2022, and it was the perfect choice for our special day! The location is fantastic, with stunning views of the water and a gorgeous sunset. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Emma, our bartender, who was not only talented at crafting cocktails but also incredibly friendly! Since our wedding fell on a Tuesday, we found the rental prices to be quite affordable. If you choose to have your reception here, I highly recommend investing in a creative cocktail menu; we selected six cocktails, and each one was simply outstanding!
I dined here on a beautiful evening, and it was a truly memorable experience. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many locals bringing their own instruments to perform. Although our hearty crepes were unfortunately overlooked, the pupus were outstanding, and the cocktails were exceptional. The service was also excellent. The atmosphere really distinguishes this place from the usual tourist spots in the area. Be sure to enjoy the cocktails and live music either before or after your meal!
The food was served cold, and we were charged a $10 cover fee, despite both the online information and the maintenance calendar posted outside the restaurant stating it should be $5. The next evening, we returned to share our disappointment about our previous experience. Our server was taken aback, consulted with a manager, and then returned to offer us a refund for the extra cover charge.

Great ambience, nice staff, fryer was down though and menu was limited Nachos we're soggy too. Also, punk rock band instead of Jazz music as advertised, frustrating..Would go back but menu and branding consistency needs serious attention. Would have stayed for hours and spent more had the above mentioned been corrected.
We ended up staying longer, enjoying more drinks and shots. We absolutely fell in love with this place and will definitely return again and again. Oh, and we also chatted with someone named Steven, I think. It felt like everything was perfectly aligned for us that night!
This charming little place features fantastic live music and a friendly service staff. Guests can be seen dancing tango and swing, creating a lively atmosphere. The ocean view is beautiful! They also offer great absinthe, cocktails, and tapas.
The best salsa band on (and off) the island! It was my first time there a few weeks ago and I was extremely impressed!

Ample beverages, good service and fantastic live music make this a regular destination when we're on the island.
We were there for the African jazz fusion night. Beautiful view and laid back atmosphere. A lot of fun.
