Ordered as a surprise for my dad and step mum to give them a lockdown date night. They adored every course and said the flavours were incredible. The person who dropped them off was super friendly and really lovely and followed great social distancing measures. The bits that came with the meal to set the table with were a fantastic touch, and the Gimbals playlist was fabulous to go with it. A perfect date night and two tremendously pleased tummies! I can’t wait for our next Gimbals (and I will certainly be ordering more than the truffles for myself next time... which were beautiful! Thank you so much!!
Despite this dreadful pandemic and lockdown, I’ve just enjoyed the most wonderful food from one of our local restaurants, Gimbals in Sowerby Bridge. The food was outstanding and came with easy instructions on how to reheat at home. The extra touch of adding table flowers and a scented candle was a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend Gimbals to anyone wanting a fabulous meal. Just to add, I have never been disappointed with the quality of food or the service from this restaurant, and am so glad that they are in my home town of Sowerby Bridge.
Had a Gimbals takeaway and we were blown away by the flavours. My husband says we will never be able to eat in the restaurant itself as he wouldn't be able to lick the plates! I even enjoyed his strawberry and gooseberry crumble and I don't like strawberries or gooseberries. Very tender lamb. Delicious crab cakes. Really regret that we didn't discover Gimbals sooner. The people who run it are really kind too, answering our questions via email really promptly. We will be returning without a doubt!
Gimbal’s take away menu is the best I’ve done during lockdown. A great deal of thought and planning has gone into making it as simple as possible to prepare when you get home and it very simple indeed. That Gimbals is moving away from being a restaurant is heart breaking… but eased by the fact I can eat the delicious food in the comfort of my own home… not to mention the ever expanding shop section. To call this a takeaway is abit of an understatement, yes you may take it home to warm up but its still restaurant quality dining rather than the usual takeaway of pizza etc. We had a Gimbals takeaway this weekend and it did not disappoint everything has clear instructions on it and easy to warm up and 30mins later voila!! Defo recommend a takeaway from Gimbals whilst we’re still in lockdown
Had the pleasure to be invited here for a friends wedding celebration the food, service and whole evening was ten out of ten, with the beef cooked to perfection and an enormous portion. Cocktails were great too. My other review is around the takeaway service which is just amazing , the instructions for serving, cooking and re heating made it a real pleasant evening.
What a fantastic meal! This was the finest dining experience we have had whilst in lockdown. Very efficient to order, collect and cook/ reheat. Also great value. The food was superb Isle of Man Scallops, Slow cooked lamb, Turmeric infused Hake, Tasty side dishes and Sticky toffee pudding to finish. Could not fault any of it and can’t wait to entreat ourselves again.
Absolutely amazing flavours. I’ve had two take aways from here recently and both have wowed me. The cooking is very easy with clear instructions. Last night we had a fabulous evening/party for my daughters 50th Birthday at Gimbals. Everything was very well organised from start to finish. The food and service was excellent and the whole evening was 100% Special thanks to Janet and her team for a great time Best wishes Doreen Peter
