I came across the Ginger Whale in Gomersal by chance while driving, and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant may have a modest exterior, but inside it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu provided a good selection of dishes at fair prices, and I found the food to be delicious, showing the kitchen's attention to detail in their cooking. I came across this restaurant on social media and had been wanting to try it for some time. The service was friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was cozy. I ordered a New York Deli sandwich, a mocha, and a pastry that resembled a cherry bakewell on brioche. The mocha was the best I've ever had, and the sandwich was delicious, with extra pickle on the side. Initially unsure about the pastry, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. I wish this place was closer to my workplace, but I will definitely be returning.
Received a lovely xmas voucher gift for afternoon tea here. Lovely little deli with a few tables so would recommend booking. The antipasti afternoon tea was huge, cheeses, meats, breads, crackers, mini pickled onions which were to die for and more!! Was really lovely treat and also visited the gin shop which has a great selection of gins, beers and wines si well worth a visit. Can also purchase cheeses etc at deli. Very friendly local run place well worth a visit.
We visited this gorgeous little cafe and originally only popped in for a coffee, however was quickly persuaded by their delicious menu and had some gorgeous food as well as our drinks. The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly and could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend this little deli for all your coffee and cake needs. They also do beautiful gifts and hampers as well as stocking lovely local produce. Can’t wait to go back!

Prior to my first visit at Ginger Whale I had failed to see what the big attraction to gin was???Every time someone mentioned it- I was transported back to my mums Gordon’s gin and toxic of the 1980’s But after the extremely helpful staff I left with a bottle of Brockmans and several flavoured tonics! I can now say I have visited numerous times and can now understand the gin attraction
A wonderful extensive supply of very interesting goodies .Not to mention the vast variety of gins , tonics and fine wines . Helpful and knowledgeable staff and it’s fine to spend time there Have a g and t or a hot drink at the same time
Wow! We had a fantastic night at the Ginger Whale. Lovely ambience, fabulous, fresh food and Alice, Candice the team couldn’t do enough to make sure we were looked after! Thank you SO much we will definitely be back very soon!
I recently discovered a hidden gem on Oxford Road with a fantastic variety of unique drinks and deli food. This type of establishment is exactly what we should be promoting and patronizing - local and personalized.
