We were looking for a new experience in Thunder Bay. Research brought us to this fabulous Italian restaurant. The restaurant was quiet enough to carry on wonderful conversations. We were not rushed and our waitrer went.out of his way to explain the different dishes. Over...3 hours we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine sharing the soup of the day and the gorgonzola salad, veal steak and a rabbit pasta dish. Each was a unique savory flavour. We finished with pistachio canneloni. Our waiter even assisted us to put our winter coats on. Seldom do you see such service in restaurants today. We will be back.
fresh made pastas, caesar salat was very good, enjoyed a cocktail, man had a beer. extensive wine list. our server and the other employees were very attentive to our table needs, fill our water, remove from the skin. I'm here three years ago and regret I'm not coming earlier. this will be our new way to a special occasion, as we both love Italian, and let them add me, it is done right! so happy that we have this caliber of the restaurant here in thunder bay. a little hard to find, but use them google maps, it will lead them to street parking.
Giorg Cucina e Barra is a great Italian gem that needs to be experienced, and tasted! The service was exceptional, the waiter friendly and engaging. With so many delicious choices on the menu it was difficult to choose but I settled on the Rigatoni Bolognese...and my sister had the Pappardelle di Coniglio and neither of us were disappointed. I will need to check out other menu choices the next time I am in Thunder Bay
We had two nights in Thunder Bay and chose this Italian Restaurant on our second night. It was their first night returning to indoor dining during the Covid pandemic. The service and the food were both excellent. It was the best dinner I've had in...6 months. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend. we live in toronto, a city full of Italian restaurants and spend summer near thunder bay. we have been enjoying at giorg for years. the eating is always excellent, the wine list is plentiful and varied and the service is fast, effective and inconspicuous....I have numerous Italian Resto’s I can go, but my favorite is giorg. it is consistently excellent and one of the best restaurants in thunder bay.
The entrance is actually on Justice ave. Glad we found it because it was really worth it. The service is refined. The two waiters were really good and nice. It took a while to get our food as they had a big group in a...back room. But it was worth the wait. The risotto and the fresh made from the day linguine were delicious. The deserts were good as well but we were full! Great place!
I was on tour and decided to buy winter clothes and boots (where else?). This restaurant that sat alone (as always, the waiter came by, rose to the knee, I don’t sweat, helped me with the ordering and suggested that I drink half the bottle of wine from the next table, left, at a reduced price. probably the best or second best culinary experience of my life,

Went with 14 others, had private room. Waiter was fantastic! Food delicious, ambiance cozy and inviting. Highly recommend. Everyone enjoyed their meals and beverages. If you haven't tried it yet you must.
