I hate that I feel like I need to do this. I don 't know if they went through new management, ownership, or whatever but I used to order a few years back on occasion so it 's been a while. The person taking my order charged my card wrong. Then there was the issue of the person taking my order not hearing anything I was saying I guess. I asked for delivery, she said okay what would you like? Then I made my order. I asked for one root beer, two sprite. (I received one sprite) I explained this to the manager/owner. Pam was out with her sister and a friend from the city yesterday, so I chose to have lunch at Giovanni's Pizza in Newton, and I'm glad I did. We've been there several times lately, and we've never been disappointed. I ordered a mini pizza topped with Canadian bacon, cheese, sauerkraut, pineapple, and jalapeños. The service was excellent and consistently fast, and the quality of the pizza is simply unmatched. Even though it was listed as a mini, I felt satisfied by the time I finished. When a meal is that delicious, I always dread when it’s over or when I’m full—whichever comes first!
The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we stepped in. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer gluten-free crust in any size pizza, which is not common at most places. When our pizza arrived, it was fantastic! I highly recommend trying it. They also have a great selection of local products, including meats and other items for sale inside. We ordered the Honey Chicken Garlic Alfredo Pizza on a gluten-free crust, and it was the best pizza I've ever had! I can't wait to go back.
We entered the restaurant and took a seat. A staff member brought us a menu, but it was inconvenient to have to order and pay for our food at the counter before receiving it. Additionally, I had to fetch my own napkins, plates, and plastic cutlery, as well as my drinks. We also had to get our own take-out boxes for leftover food. Although COVID hit hard on business and how dine in and take out are handled, Gio’s has managed to stay true to their roots. Every business has their short comings, some even close down all the way. Trying to navigate a still Covid world and business is hard. Quality vs quantity is where they shine compared the other guys. When a compliant is voiced they make it right. Local business that is not a franchise. Cut them some slack. They also have fish!
I remember the days it was Zeno's Pizza and then Bob Galloway stepped in and became Giovanni's Pizza. Bob and his staff of worker's are the reason why Giovanni's is the BEST, when it comes to pizza,onion rings...well, you get the pitcher..... Congrats to you all at Giovanni's Number 1 in Newton..
