I went to Glen Prairie for the first time last Saturday night. This restaurant is connected to a hotel and has a nice bar and lounge area with an open dining concept. We were seated at a table near the door on a banquette with an upholstered chair on one side and a booth on the other. The booth was too low, so I switched to the chair, which was uncomfortable throughout the meal. Our server was friendly but did not introduce herself. She quickly brought bread and took our drink order. I tried a Trefethen Chardonnay, which she brought a taste of since I don't usually drink Chardonnay. This restaurant is a local favorite for us. We really enjoy their seasonal menu and specials. Tonight, we decided to try something new and ordered the seasonal beef bourguignon instead of our usual standby of short ribs. It was absolutely delicious. The Scottish Salmon served on a bed of butternut squash risotto was also fantastic. We paired our meals with a Pinot noir which complemented the dishes perfectly. However, the standout dish of the evening was definitely the pumpkin ice cream with espresso and sea salt caramel. It was so delicious! Make sure to try it before the season ends. The service and atmosphere were exceptional as always. We will definitely be returning with friends.
This place is amazing! I decided to try it for my birthday dinner and I was extremely impressed. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and the portion sizes were generous. Our server, Edna, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. I would return just for her and the delicious Short Rib dish. Additionally, it's a farm-to-table restaurant, which is a huge bonus. This hidden gem in Lombard has definitely won me over and I regret not discovering it sooner.

The farm to table menu is locally sourced, seasonal, inventive, and expertly prepared. I would rate the food and service both a 5, with the atmosphere coming in at a solid 4.
The food at this restaurant is excellent, but be prepared to spend some money. The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is inviting. I highly recommend the Fish and Chips. It's a great choice for a nice dinner out.
