We visited this restaurant in Sydney with our family and enjoyed the icy cold drinks in a well-maintained but old-fashioned setting. The Asian restaurant connected to it served some of the most delicious food we have ever tasted, with most dishes priced at just $12 and offering generous portions. It's no surprise that this place is popular during the week for locals and those working nearby. They also offer takeaway options. While it may not have all the modern conveniences, it is a charming old pub with excellent drinks, tasty food, and comfortable seating to unwind in.
The Glenroy traditionally traded on the after work crowd from the industrial areas. Even though there are now many apartments around here, the Glenroy still seems to get quiet pretty quickly in the evening. It's a nice place though, with decorative ceilings, wood panelled walls...that still have a lot of windows for looking out to Botany Road, plus a large bistro area. The food is standard pub food at above average quality ribs and wings had quality meat and ingredients although didn't try to do a lot with the flavour. Fairly good prices for food and beer.
we always went to the glenroy. especially the mid-week because it is near our apartment. we were in there tonight and we were disappointed that tash (natasha? not worked. Instead, we were served by another, sub-standard girl (not remember her names, but she...has glasses on, which absolutely no idea how the bar had to work. our drinks took them terrible forever, as they are located directly on the corner. the beats tonight.
incredibly friendly staff and atmosphere. they have a great new team, great simple yet humble quality eating and an incredible mood. it is an honest place. good quality patrons and never probleme. great quality beer always icy cold. The old Happy Gathering Asian restaurant has recently been taken over by new management, and just in the nick of time. Our third visit to Glenroy 2.0 in three weeks has been consistently excellent. This restaurant offers delicious pub classics with a gourmet touch. It is a welcoming spot for Swans fans and locals alike. We can't wait to come back again!
I used to dine at this restaurant regularly when I lived nearby. I am a fan of their Asian cuisine and the welcoming staff. The salt and pepper fish is absolutely delicious! The mongolian beef and the king prawns with vegetables are also excellent. Whenever I am in the area, I still make sure to have dinner there because their flavors are top-notch.
had drinks here and dinner on a week night. doing covid safety requirements and tables well spaced apart. several different areas to sit, inside and outside. standard aussie pub meals, very good priced, plus a bit variety, if want to go healthy, includes vegetarian...option order them drinks and meals at the bar. popular with locals.

the dishes served here were better than most hotel bistros. the eating had some character and that was the differentiating factor from most aussie pubs. the service was good. we came to eat twice.
