I'm not sure why some of the other reviewers had such bad experiences with Globe we always enjoy our meal there and have been loads of times (it's just down the road for me). Portion sizes are good and great value for money. The cakes are gorgeous so many to choose from and different to the usual, generic cheesecakes and carrot cake you get everywhere else. Coffee is good. They don't change their menu that's probably the biggest gripe, as it would be nice to have a change now and again. Service can be a bit haphazard, depending on the day of the week (different staff on different days) but you can overlook that when the food is so nice. Try the French Toast for breakfast delicious!
DISAPPOINTING. 4 people first time at Globe but what a disappointing experience. The Cafe may be good for cake and coffee but definitely not for meals. Two of the meals ordered were substandard. Snapper, Chips and Greek salad would be an elimination on MKR. The plate was piled high with chips and salad making the meal look substantial but the grilled snapper was miniscule. Cannot guess how it had been prepared apart that it was not freshly grilled for service. It was hard and chewy and cold. The portion size was less than 50% the size of a saucer. Went there for breakfast and ordered zucchini waffles with poached egg and salmon. As I don't like poached egg I asked waitress for boiled one and she got confused about difference between these two. I explained to her that I just want hard cooked egg and she said that there is no problems. I was really excited cause meal seemed really nice on the menu list. Yet, I got my waffle with runny poached eggs. I was really disappointed and quite angry cause I payed $20 for meal that I didn't even eat on the end. As I work in hospitality as well I think that this is quite unprofessional especially cause I explained to the staff member what I want.
This has the potential to be an exceptional cafe with some tweaking of the decor and the creating of authentic French pastries and cakes. It does really well with the quiche and salad type of lunch, well prepared and well priced and is a popular place and the staff are friendly and efficient which is hard to find these days.The coffee is the best I had this week! My friend said my eyes lit up after I took my first sip! A good sign.

Large restaurant/cafe in a lovely street. Early on week days there is hardly anyone around. The restaurant's design and fit out is eerily similar to Dome cafes. Service was efficient, rather than personable or friendly. Food was fine. However I'm not sure why anyone would serve food with packets of butter on the plate with the good, let alone deliver the plates Ruth the cutlery left on the plate! Geez, this is basic stuff.
One of the girls reserved a table as there were six of us for breakfast. We were greeted by a waiter and seated at our reserved table. On arrival, Globe Coffee House reminded me of the well known chain of cafes, Dome. We chatted for a while before looking over the menu. We were excited to get together and forgot about breakfast for a few moments.
Very excellent service and the food was superb. I went for dinner with friends and we ordered some steaks with prawns. My steak was a bit chewy but besides that everything was on point. They had the most wonderful cakes/ petite fours ever and you could tell they were freshly made. I love this little coffee shop!

“Seems popular with the over-50s” and has breakfast cocktails. I had the shakshuka. It was delicious but a bit more watery than I expected. The service was friendly enough and a little slow, which is ok for a lazy Sunday, not for a quick breakfast.
Have to mention the waiter service was superb! Really friendly. Love the environment for dining as well. Great breakfast options. Coffee was great.
