Been coming here recently for the good dim sum but won't be anymore. After ordering 4 takeaway dishes, I added up the total based on the menu. Lady at counter (maybe the owner? gave a higher total so I asked if she was sure as my math is quite reliable. She got annoyed and started looking for excuses before telling me squid tentacles went up this week. How convenient aye! After getting the explanation I was fine with it and paid but as she was putting the cash into the til, she gave me the dirtiest looks I've ever seen. By far the rudest and most uncomfortable service experience I've ever had in a Perth restaurant. Since the new management, the food has declined severely in standards and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant has been verging on traumatic. We were seated at a very dirty table which was not cleaned for us and were ignored by the staff on numerous occasions when attempting to order food. One of the dishes we ordered is stored in a heater behind the counter on display, it was not brought to us for over 30 minutes even though we could literally see it in front of us. My friends and I from Rockingham decided to try out something new up north so we came to this restaurant. 4 out of 5 of us could not even remember the restaurant name, it was so long! The menu looks tempting and we ordered the coriander prawn dumplings, beancurd in oyster sauce and custard buns to name a few.One of my friend ordered the roast duck rice. Many of the dim sums were not available and the squid tentacles were greasy and soft. My friend got roast pork instead of roast duck rice after quite some time of waiting. The family wanted some Chinese food, and we received a recommendation for Gold Garden. We had visited a few years ago for a birthday celebration and had a terrible experience. I thought management might have changed since then, so I agreed to give it another try. The takeout menu looked promising, but unfortunately, that’s where our positive experience ended. The spring rolls were very greasy, and the honey chicken had barely any honey sauce at all. All our other choices lacked flavor as well, which was quite disappointing. We couldn’t finish our meals and won’t be returning to Gold Garden anytime soon.
Swung between a two and three star rating. We went for dim sum on a Sunday. The interior looks like it's straight from the 80s but it only opened up in the old Chicken Treat location about a year ago. Food and service was average, but something weird was up with the turnip cake, don't know if it was off or if it was the pan they fried it in but it had a very strange smell and taste and was not ok to eat. Prices are slightly above those of the dim sum restaurants in Northbridge.
we wanted to try this restaurant a while and finally get there. we went to the dim sum lunch on a Sunday. the service was fast, friendly and efficient. we took some items from the car and ordered others. all we had was amazing with all on the table that the dumplings were fresh, sweet crispy and not oily. the aromen were great. this will now go our to dim sum restaurant and can no longer speak high.
Really enjoyed our meals at Gold Garden. The prices are decent and they are perfect serving sizes. The food is extremely tasty and fresh. I recommend chilli squid tentacles, they are to die for. The interior isn't crash hot but who cares when it's beautiful food. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
It's not great. I recently moved into the opposite and took care of a new Go-to dim Sum joint. that's not it. the staff seemed pleasant enough, bu the eating was sub par.
