We have always got our fish chips from here and they have always been delicious BUT for the first time we went on Saturday lunchtime just as it opened and I think we had reheated chips from the busy Friday night. The fish was sort of sloppy/wet. It had no taste and wasn't the big white flakes of fish you normally get? The oil tasted like it needed changing too. Unfortunately dispite being a regular customer and using them for years we will not be going back there. I want to know that I will get what we pay for, not have to part with £18 and then worry that its pot luck if you're going to get a good batch. We had another excellent fish and chip meal from the Golden Fish Bar last Friday while staying with our family in Kent. There is always a queue so you can expect to wait a while for your fish to be cooked, but it is well worth waiting for. The people running the shop are very nice and they are always friendly. Good quality fish cooked to perfection with plenty of chips and not too greasy – we’ll be back!
There has been a bit of trouble parking when the shop lost its parking but now the co-op has opened directly in front and it's free parking for 30 minutes yay!!! Makes a big difference Once again excellent fish cooked to order. Great service and although we visited on a Friday night. Queues were kept to a minium with the great system the staff have on place. They cannot do enough for you.
I did use to eat chips at mccoys in Hoo but now I am torn between here and there. I use to often see cues out of the door so decided I had to go and investigate. I had a portion of chips and they are lovely and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside so tasty. I have not tried anything else here though.

I have always had a great experience here, with exceptional quality every time. The fish is cooked perfectly and the chips don't taste old. I highly recommend this place.
