We ordered fish and chips and salt and pepper tinted fish. The tartar sauce had a surprising sweetness to it, and while the tinted fish was more flaky than spicy, it was still delightful, paired with a maple and bourbon sauce. The cod was good, but next time I would prefer to order smaller portions. The chips could have used a bit more salt and vinegar to enhance their flavor.
I visited this restaurant after hearing amazing things about it, and it truly lives up to the hype. It's simply the best in the business. They have a fantastic new selection of gluten-free options, which I really appreciate. I enjoyed the broth, the fish, and the spicy curry – all were delicious. The atmosphere here is also wonderful, making it a perfect dining experience.
The restaurant has recently launched a gluten-free menu, and the dough they use is quite good. I highly recommend sticking to their regular batter, which is exceptional and makes it worth the 30-mile trip! They also offer an extensive selection of gluten-free options and have a dedicated fryer for them.

Me and the wife came down after a long day of work. Everything is piping hot and cooked to order. Nice little hidden gem. Bringing consett on the map. We got halloumi fries in batter and fish and chips. Never disappoints
Abo-Specials are amazing from this place. Especially the king prawns. they are huge. good. beautiful selection of sauces and dips but my favorite is the maple and bourbon
