We went for lunch because we were staying at Carriage Ridge Resort and had done some shopping so we were in the area in the Metro which is on the other side of the mall. Anyway lunch price was $12.95 for adults. My 12 yr old we paid $7.95. The food was oky not spicy at all. The wonton soup was just broth and I got my first plate and thought they would refill while I ate my food. When I went back it still wasn't refilled so I asked about it and the lady in the kitchen pointed to the other wonton soup container which was just broth too. We had visited this restaurant last year and thought we would give it another try. Big mistake. In fact, it was worse than the last time we went. Walking in the door, there was a terrible smell of something. Not sure what it was. First impression was the delivery guy standing around in front of the kitchen and other kitchen workers who were filthy looking. We let that go and sat down. We had a great server but that was about it. The food was terrible!! It was dried out, cold and definitely not a selection that would be typical of a buffet that was that expensive. We've been here everytime we come fishing in Orillia. The new location is awesome, with plenty of seating and lots of room to manoeuvre around the buffet. The wait staff is always terrific!The food selection is always abundant including a few non-asian options. I wish the food was kept hotter, as its just warm. It's uncomfortable to sit near the bar as delivery people who REEK of cigarettes hang around there.The "manager" or whoever he is provided some mild comedy for us on the last trip as we were seated near a woman dining alone and the manager found a hundred excuses to wander by her table to flirt and try to impress her. Greeted and seated with a smile. Buffet dishes warm but not hot. Sweet/sour soup not good at all. Ginger beef turned out to be ginger potatoe pieces, sechuan beef was pieces of fat, undercooked noodles. Want more??? Waitress spilled water all over while holding rim of the glass and did not come back to clean up. The door greeter, manager and another employee had loud, public discussions about personal affairs. Not much changed...needs a complete workover starting with the chef and management. Won't be back for a long time. Better Chinese food at other places.
We had the buffet here and found a reasonably good selection. All the usuals without a carving station. The salad bar was quite good including Sushi, which was average and the immitation crab which had obviously been previously frozen and was like cardboard . The dessert table was very poor. Lots of fruit and ice cream and little choice of anything else. The good was the food was hot, and it seemed fresh. A little pricey for what we had . Ended up being 60.00 for 2 people and we only had pop as our drinks.
Nothing about this restaurant has changed for the last 2 years....their buffets are still greasy ,salty, and dried out. They advertise that all take-out orders and delivery orders are prepared fresh. This is a total lie....their egg rolls, their chicken wings, their breaded shrimps,their chow mein, all their combo plates come from whatever is left over from their buffet tables. They are greasy ,and dried out...I have ordered take out on 3 different occasions and have gotten the same garbage each time!
Great food if you not too hungry 15.99 weekend dinner all you can eat buffet whether it is Angelo the restaurant greeter or Katy the restaurant manager guaranteed you will be told that is Enough going back to buffet table ! After over 20 years of being a customer with the last 3 years of new ownership and relocation to the front street the service has declined continuously guess staying is business is not a priority for the new owners!
Large buffet style restaurant is very comfortable. The buffet is quite large with many choices of asian foods, also various types of salads and deserts, including ice creams.The food quality was very good.They serve wines, beer, and other alcoholic beverages.Seating and service was friendly and accommodating.Highly recommended.
I used to think this was the best Chinese Restaurant in Orillia but my latest visit was just so so. The food was alright but I thought that I remembered a buffet with more choices. The most disturbing thing was the man in the bar area talking loudly on his cell phone the entire time I was there.
