I visited this restaurant for the first time to grab a takeout lunch, and I was impressed by how friendly the staff was. I ended up enjoying a picnic in the car with my daughter. We ordered the lunch specials, which included hot and sour soup. She chose sesame chicken, while I opted for chicken and broccoli. Both dishes were fresh and delicious, and there was more than enough food! The noodles were exceptional, especially with the delightful hot mustard and duck sauce. Everything was fantastic. I'm looking forward to dining in at this restaurant for dinner soon!
I absolutely love Golden Wok Cafe! It's a family-owned and operated restaurant with incredibly friendly staff. They offer a complete gluten-free menu, which is quite rare for Chinese cuisine, and they're very accommodating to those with allergies or sensitivities. The food is outstanding! We typically begin our meal with the hot and sour soup, which is especially tasty, especially since it's gluten-free. We also enjoy the chicken chow fun, the three musketeers, house fried rice, and sesame chicken. Everything is delicious!
I ordered two different chicken dishes: chicken with broccoli and chicken in garlic sauce. Unfortunately, both were disappointing! The chicken in each dish was extremely dry, as if it had been pre-cooked and then overcooked. The sauce for the chicken with broccoli was overly salty, and the garlic sauce was just awful. We couldn't even finish them! To top it off, their prices are outrageous! I think I'll stick to ordering from Dobbs Ferry in the future.
The restaurant is decent but not exceptional. The portions are somewhat small, though the service is attentive and the food is fresh. If the servings were larger and the prices a bit lower, they would have earned a 4-star rating. Overall, I likely won't return, mainly because there are numerous Chinese restaurants nearby that offer better quality for a lower price. However, they do have a strong gluten-free menu, which is definitely worth noting.

Wow! I can't believe how bland the pad thai was. I was really hungry and just wanted something quick, but I barely ate enough to satisfy my hunger. The dish lacked any vibrant colors—just plain orange noodles. There were no scallions or lime to add flavor—what a disappointment! I'm throwing the rest away. What a waste! Now I have to figure out what to eat next, ugh!
I had my friend pick up some food for me this evening since I wasn't feeling well. I ordered General Tso's chicken, which is pretty standard. The food was decent, but I was surprised that it cost $17 for a small bowl of chicken and veggies along with a small serving of white rice. I wasn't very impressed.
The restaurant is conveniently located, but the food lacks flavor. The staff isn't particularly friendly, though there's plenty of free parking available. I recommend asking for the house mustard to add some taste to the dishes. On the plus side, the portion sizes are generous!
