I stopped by for dinner and had an excellent dining experience! The brisket was expertly prepared, and I even had the chance to chat with the Master Chef and Smoke Master, who impressed me with her extensive knowledge of quality smoking techniques. My wife chose a more traditional dish of fish and chips, which were cooked to perfection, with crispy and hot Idaho potatoes. We spent some time ordering a few rounds, making it a lively and entertaining experience with the bartender! The Gold Mine has a genuine soul and heartfelt service. The atmosphere is fantastic—just order a drink or ask for suggestions, and the staff is eager to provide delicious food and drinks along with great conversation...
I'm giving this place five stars, not because it is an elegant place to dine, but because it so fits so well with the theme of the gold rush region it's in. It's a fun place for some darn good food. We had pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches. Both were excellent. The service was great. It had clean restrooms and it looks like they have bands there from time to time. Definitely, the place to stop in for lunch or dinner if you are in the area.
Best part of our day! Our group of eight (four kids/four adults) had lunch after visiting The Springs, and we were welcomed like regulars. We were seated immediately and had our drinks within just a few minutes. The staff is so friendly and fun, the menu had awesome options, and the food was delish! We all left kind of wanting to move to Idaho City so we COULD be regulars! We will be back for more!
I can't say enough good things about this place! My husband and I visited on Friday night and had a fantastic time. We enjoyed some live music and the best brisket French dips I've ever tasted! It was also a pleasure to have the owner, Steve, join us for a chat. We felt like part of the family! I can't wait to come back and bring the whole family along!

We had a fantastic time at the gold mine! The food was tremendous (especially the pit master sandwich and pulled pork nachos) and the atmosphere was fun! The servers were polite and prompt. Can't say enough about this small hwy 21 pit stop.
Adults will love this place: the ribs are outstanding! I highly recommend the food for a fantastic date night. We've also been there for lunch, and once again, the food was great and the atmosphere is perfect for adults!
Such a fun place! Great food and drink and right on the main drag. Large outdoor space to eat too.
Friendly staff and great service. Tri-Tip and Brisket recommend. Side salad is also good!
