On the other hand, the food was just okay. It tasted fine, but we had to wait about 50 minutes to receive our order, and they didn’t offer any compensation for that delay. We nearly decided to leave. The food itself wasn’t anything special, and the long wait was a bit frustrating. However, the service and drinks were excellent. The staff acknowledged the slow service and apologized, which seemed reasonable since they are primarily a bar, not a full-service restaurant. The ideal scenario would be to visit, enjoy a Bloody Mary, grab some curry fries, and unwind. That’s definitely something I plan to do regularly, and I encourage you to do the same—focus on the drinks and a light snack instead...
The staff did not really care about me and my group. They just took my order and gave me my food. They actually gave me the wrong thing to begin with. They did not ask if the food was good. It’s almost like a fast food place. They just take your order and give it to you. The burger was insanely expensive at $18 and I also got cheese curds, not shown, which were overpriced and absolutely not worth it, as they were just ok. I have had better fast food cheese curds. Of course, my main complaint is that this burger, when asked to be cooked medium, might not even be rare. I genuinely don’t believe it was cooked. Nobody asked me how the food was and I typically never send anything back to the kitc...
Passing through town on a road trip. Ask lady at hotel if there were any good bars around and she told us about Good City Brewing and it was only one block away. Perfect walking distance. Place wasn't crazy busy, but they had plenty of staff on hand and the service was awesome. We tried a couple flights based on suggestions from bartender. Found a couple we like and had a couple. Really nice place with really good staff. Wish we had a place like this in my area. Didn't eat, but saw some of the food come out and it looked really good. Highly recommend checking this place out.
I visited Milwaukee from Boston and wanted to check out one of the best brewery spots. The ambiance was excellent, and the rooftop bar was really enjoyable. However, I'm not sure if the East Coast has different preferences, but many of the beers in our flight were just too bitter for our taste. We visited the East Side location on a Sunday late morning. The neighborhood was quiet and parking was free and convenient. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Stuffed Milwaukee Pretzel—fantastic! We also shared Loaded Cheese Curds which were drizzled with southwest ranch and garlic herb mayo—the epitome of Midwest greatness. Hubby loved the Good City Amber Lager!
The food was terrible! We ordered the Mac n’ Cheese, and it was bland with overcooked pasta. The veggie wrap with falafel was also a disappointment; it was so oily that I couldn’t even pick it up. To make matters worse, the four cheese pizza had a hair in it, and the dough was greasy. Overall, it was a really unpleasant experience.

Jake is one of the best examples of customer service I have ever seen! He was quick to take not just our order but those around us. He knew the menu backwards and forwards. Good spot for a couple local brews. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the cheese curds were tasty. Went for a rehearsal dinner. The back room was really nice.
