This spot has been an institution in Mendocino for as long as I’ve been around and the newest incarnation, Goodlife, might be the best. It gets rave reviews, is popular with locals and visitors AND always has a line out the door. An extensive and eclectic menu where everything is prepared with care, along with daily specials good enough to tantalize even the most refined of pallets. They also have items fit for every dietary need which sets them apart. They have both in and outdoor dining that is covered and heated when necessary. It has a warm and pleasant feel. We went to Mendocino on 30 June to find someplace to have breakfast. We had our Pup with us and we're very pleased to find that many eateries allow dogs in their outside area. The service at The GoodLife was very fast given the amount of business they had and the food was very tasty, however it was a little pricey. I had their Pancakes and while the did virtually cover the plate $12 for two cakes is pricey in my opinion.
very cute and vibey atmosphere for a cafe! the breakfast was lovely and there were lots of impressive GF options. my mom was so happy as she has celiac and it’s difficult to find things to eat out!! i loved the trinkets and jewellery and different things around the store. we loved the salad dressing so much that the chef put some in a jar for us to take home which was incredible. definitely a 10/10 :
This place gets really busy! The coffee was unfortunately not good even though they advertise a good roaster. It’s seat yourself. We got a breakfast burrito $12) which I really did not like, and the special French toast which was good. Overall nothing special, but admittedly we didn’t try the pastries which looked good! 5 stars and at least a 2 michelin star restaurant (worth a detour) in my opinion. We had 2 cappuccinos, shared an eggs Benedict, and a strawberry custard tart. Everything was to die for, the ingredients, flavor and presentation all exceeded our expectations and overall I would highly highly recommend this place.
The coffee is pretty good, though was charged a 20% forced gratuity for a quick and simple cup of coffee to go. Give me a break! That 's a hidden fee and I won 't go back.
Horrible barista that gave attitude about my wife drink and never made it. Waited 20 min for to go order latte.
