Came here as it was very close to the hotel, outside was busy but midges were everywhere so went inside, waiters were extremely busy but seemed nice enough. I had pasta, hubs had what looked like a veal Schnitzel with pasta and sauce. He liked it mine was ok, wine was pricey as they recommend the 34€ bottle so I said no and we went for separate glasses. (I’m not cheap but let’s face it it’s not going to add that much to a average restaurant) Bread was stale but sometimes that happens tho I would recommend not cutting the bread until needed Gran Torino!! Transit in this city for few hours from the train to Tignes makes us hungry and this restaurant located five minutes walk from the station, so we just gave it a try. They serve steaks and pasta also some vegetarian dishes. I try entrecôte with fries and barbecue sauce, it was good and the tartar was good also. We try their vegetarian noodle but seem too salty, it was japanese kind of cuisine but just too salty. All the meat section was good, we try the cheese burger and hamburger steak as well. Near the train station, good quality, not expensive... Been stuck in Chambery cause of strikes, went to Gran Torino with 2 mates and had a **** ripper time ! The food was good, the wine too ! And the waiters were so smiling and nice ! Especially Stephen and Basten, we'll surely come back here for dinner or even arvo for couple of bevvies since they also do Happy hours 6pm to 8pm
Whenever I am in Chambery, I stop in this place to have a dish called raie a la grenobloise . really tasty and nice dish. good service. casual dining with good value for money. Young and friendly staff.
