the hotel: we took a standard room (specially spacious have been equipped) which is of high quality; Bear gave on the main street, but there was no noise! reception: quality too, nothing to say. the restaurant: our meal where, you must say honesty, everything was good, left us an unfinished taste! We checked into the Grand Hotel du Lyon d'Or and made a reservation for the restaurant our first night. We went into it with some trepidation, what with mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. The first misimpression was about the wine list, due to a report that the cheapest bottle was 80 Euro. In fact, we had a wonderful bottle of the local Romorantin for 45 Euro, and there were many similarly priced bottles. My wife started with foie gras and I had grilled sardines. Both were cooked very rare and were exquisite. The foie gras wasn't the least bit fatty tasting, and the sardines were like a faintly grilled sashimi. having chosen to stop at the golden lion hotel, we had booked a table with a three-course menu and two glass of wine. this beautiful and very old hostel is subtly restored, the rooms of the restaurant are beautiful. As we said, the reception is professional and sober, never obsessive. dishes are delicate, really perfect for a menu decorated with a room. Perhaps the choice of the first wine (local white) could be examined. the hotel's master kindly proposed to change my wife's entrance for an allergy reason. the breakfast of products at home was simple but perfectly served. We will return with joy to the great hotel of the Golden Lion.

Salle à manger cosy. Service irréprochable. La fluidité du service est parfaite. Plats copieux et excellents. Une cuisine inventive et pleine de saveurs : la variation d'asperges blanches est un vrai mélange de gouts très appréciable. La cuisson de l'agneau était parfaite. Les différents petits pains très bons. Les fromages de chèvre sont absolument exceptionnels (avis d'une amatrice confirmée !). Carte des vins de Loire très variée, et autres vins qui restent abordables. Le chef est accessible et parle avec plaisir aux clients. Une étoile pour le cadre, la carte et l'addition mais pas d'étoile dans l'assiette. Nous avons pris le menu impression en se disant que nous aurions les spécialités de la maison. Aucun plat ne nous a subjugué. Langoustines fades, lieu jaune de qualité mais accompagnement médiocre, pigeon farci banal et dessert qui est resté dans l'assiette. Pas de vin rosé cote de Provence alors qu'il fait 35c, "on en a plus..." terrasse extérieure agréable mais des fauteuils en plastique. Une impression générale de laisser aller liée probablement a une usure du temps. Quel dommage

We stayed in the hotel and reserved a table in the restaurant. Its expensive but fabulous each course was prepared to perfection and the wine we had to accompany everything was perfect. Excellent service discreet but always there to top off glasses and make everything perfect. Fantastic restaurant!

Très bien situé mais le RV gastronomique s'est révélé décevant. Le fameux pigeon farci ne tient pas sa promesse (plutôt fade!), portion de légumes ridicule. Choix de vin au verre pas digne d'une région vinicole. Seul le dessert chocolat mérite une étoile. Le rapport qualité prix est à améliorer .

J'ai eu la chance d'être invité deux fois par ma direction dans ce restaurant. Le petit jardin extérieur est très agréable. Repas gastronomique dans l'assiette. Personnel très agréable. L'intérieur du restaurant fait un peu plus ancien. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
