We go to Gravetye 3 or 4 times a year if we can and have been going for many many years over the tenures of several owners. It 's always a complete joy, and the current owner has done a fabulous job of getting the right people in, both inside and out. Tom Coward, the Head Gardener (ex. Dixter) has a vision and a long term plan that make continual visits over an extended period a joy every time we visit we are surprised by the continual changes we learn so much and the garden staff are super helpful and willing to discuss what they 're up to and why. Wonderful! Splendid and well-kept nature, ancient house of great charm, wonderful rooms and bathrooms. Excellent food and service. The best place I've stayed. Rooms: Huge. Original period furniture but excellently restored. Extreme cleanliness. Feather pillows. Excellent quality sheets and towels. In the room there are also sofas, armchairs, desks. New bathrooms even if in an old style. They have both a shower and a bathtub. Flavors and other accessories in large quantities and quality. Treated ourselves for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the hotel the service was exceptional. We both commented it was the best service we've experienced in the UK. The food was exquisite. 3 courses but with 3 amuse bouche and delicious bread we were very satisfied.
