I had lunch here on Saturday 29th November 2014, with my 9 year old son (who is not vegan/vegetarian), and my eldest daughter who is vegetarian and slowly becoming vegan. I am vegan and both myself and my daughter find it very difficult to eat out because there are very few places that serve vegetarian food (omelette or salads are the usual choices) and I have yet to find a vegan choice on a menu. So to be able to eat at this adorable little restaurant and have both choices made available to us was terrific. It is a really quaint little establishment, tucked away down an olde worlde alley in centre ville. The decor is retro and my son was intrigued by the posters and various old toys on disp...
I ate there with a friend in the fall. It's a small quirky place with English & French speaking staff.All the items are either vegan or vegetarian, which is a real treat for vegans like me who often eat salads out. Everything is made on the premises and there's a nice selection of main courses, soups, and desserts. Portions are generous and the cuisine is hearty. You order at the counter and a server brings your food to you.Prices are reasonable.We didn't book and should have done. We ended up sharing a table with another person, and that was pleasant. But next time I'll book, to be sure to have a place.
We were made to feel very welcome and were very pleased with the choice of food. Being vegetarian and visiting France can sometimes be problematic so it was very refreshing to find somewhere that we could get a wholesome, nutritious meal that didn't involved bread or cheese! There were 4 choices on the daily menu and it was extremely difficult to choose - everything sounded amazing. If we'd had more time in Caen, I'm sure we'd have been back again to try more! Great flavours, great atmosphere, great place. Definitely worth a visit, even/especially for non-veggies. My husband loved it too!
Lovely cafe, lovely food, all vegan - a must go lunch destination. 4 or so menu options, all sounded delicious - wish I could have come back the next day and tried more! As a vegetarian, I'd been meaning to stop by GG for a while. After I did, I wondered why it had taken me so long. The food was phenomenal! These people really understand what vegetarian and vegan cooking is! It's definitely very rich, delicious food. It is a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it.
I was very happy with this place. They made you feel welcome. There were choice of four main meals on daily menu. All fresh, made with locally sourced ingredients. Greedy guts is based in Caen city centre. Easy to find. Stuff speak English and French.
We had a very nice lunch at the Greedy Guts. Tasty food and friendly service. The kids loved it. It's a little difficult to spot it since it is right at the end of a small alley. A great find in Caen.
