This iconic takeout spot offers fantastic Greek cuisine and is a beloved institution in downtown DC, and rightly so. The spanakopita and lamb are consistently delicious. One minor drawback: there’s little time to think about your order, as the lines can get long and the owners keep everything moving efficiently. It's a good idea to check the online menu in advance.
Such a wonderful place!! The owner clearly cares for his customers, and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the avgolemono soup which was so tasty, and the owner gave me extra bread. The bread was clearly homemade, and fresh?it was so fluffy and warm. I definitely plan to be back after this great experience!
This place is an institution. The avgolemono age spanakopita alone are enough reason to go, but I've never had anything here that I didn't love. The specials change all the time and are always worth trying. It's a tiny takeout place with a lot of character, and it's done if the best food in DC. Food: 5/5
This place has the best soups—either the chicken lemon or lentil. The gyro was tasty, although it was sliced a bit thick; it would have been even better if it were sliced thinner. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick and delicious meal! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I have come here for 20 years now. The food is always great, but I like to get “dinner to go”. Don’t forget they close around 2:30 pm right now but please keep coming so that this institution can stay open.
Missed the Avgolemono for the past 3 years of the pandemia.I tried different Greek restaurants where they make Avgolemono, but they wouldn’t match the thickness and taste from this place.Food: 5/5
Had a gyro here today. It was just good, not as great as they used to be. The meat seems to be pre-cut, not fresh off the rotisserie anymore. Also seem to put less feta these days.

"The waitress was fantastic and we didn't have to wait in line. We chose this restaurant after Red Robin made us wait an hour for just two people and then closed early at 7 PM due to a staff shortage. This place helped make my birthday dinner enjoyable and seamless."
