A great place to dine. I was pleasantly surprised because I had no idea what to expect. Because of the Kovid the last two times I visited them were not open. It is a wonderful restaurant with a casual menu along with a civil war museum. We had a chance to search the museum shortly, but want to return. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very hospitable as I would say home. I will add my review because I made my second visit today. My wife and I saw it from the freeway on our way south to La Jolla and decided to try it on our way back north. We were not disappointed. Service was a little slow because of the skeleton/training crew on duty, however it was worth the visit. John, the manager, was very attentive to our needs. While waiting for our food we were able to explore the museum and it's many documents. Both our appetizers and main course were delicious. Will definitely try to return.

This place was wonderful.. my wife who is a history fanatic was completely impressed. We celebrated our anniversary there. Staff was so gracious. The dining experience was superb. Food and services was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place.. can't wait to try the their brunch next.
My husband ordered boneless spare ribs and it was amazing. I ordered Connecticut lobster roll and although it was tasty, it was very dry. I don't think I'd order it again. My strawberry basil martini was scrumptious and the service excellent. Fun place for a group.
We were thrilled to come in a hot afternoon. The A/C was welcomed and the efficient service of the manager and server Timothy. The food was beautifully plated and tasty!
Food was delicious. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed, but were super friendly. Not sure what was going on with the restrooms, but it smelled terrible.
Absolutely incredible food and ambience. My children reserved me for the next night. We always come to our visits in Carlsbad!
