We stopped on our way to Creston and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. We had homemade split pea and ham soup which was very tasty (lots of ham.)! Breakfast is served all day and one of our party had a huge portion of oatmeal for lunch! The menu has a decent amount of selection and the atmosphere is unpretentious--perfectly suited to the motorcycle crowd that seems to congregate at the cafe (there is a motorcycle campsite just down the road.) Ordered three separate dishes of fish and chips and none of them were fully cooked. The fish was soggy and batter was burned as there was hardly any of it. The coleslaw that came with the meals had no dressing.Inside the restaurant, there is a strange smell probably coming from the booths built in 1950s - the interior is simply horrendous. So we decided to sit outside. However, the Outdoor patio did not look any better! The booths were from yellow-school-bus and were covered in dust with spiderwebs. The only positive feedback was that the waitress was very polite. Please do not eat there!
We stopped here essentially by accident as it was lunch time. It's a basic restaurant that surprises with superior quality super fresh ingredients all well prepared. I had a steak sandwich which was a nice top sirloin, cooked as ordered. I had it with caesar salad which was fresh with real bacon and shredded parmesan. My wife had grilled cheese with real cheddar and choice of bread. Her garden salad was a very fresh mesclun greens with added tomato, cucumber, peppers etc.If you're on the road near Creston, BC, it's a few km's east on Hwy 3
This cafe has a very typical North American feel, almost like being in a movie. The rustic wooden floors, retro furniture, and delicious food all add to the charm. The service is friendly and accommodating to all customers, and even the dishwasher is from Germany. A spontaneous visit in the stunning Kootenay Mountains that will always be remembered!
We had a hankering for eggs Benedict and it was not on the menu. We asked our server if it was available and she asked the cook....BOOM! 10 minutes later, eggs Benedict.The food here is pretty damn good and has a very home made feel to it. A mom and pop shop for sure. It's worth the few minutes outside of Creston.Eat here!
This is a great little place. It is supper friendly n we some food. The prices are really good an quantity of food is supper for the price. It is a very cool atmosphere and everyone just come as u are. The food special is good.
have passed this café many times on my travels but never visited it before...what a mistake! Great selection of food, served quickly and with one of the most cheerful and friendly waitresses ever.
This is a wonderful spot to grab a coffee and hearty breakfast for truckers. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. I definitely plan on returning.
We stopped at this restaurant on our way to Kimberly for a "light snack." It was busy, but we were able to get a table.
