Fortunately we'd made a reservation for a Saturday night because the restaurant was busy. We were shown to our table given menus, water and bread and after about 10 minutes later orders were taken We'd both ordered the barramundi from the menu and were disappointed when we were subsequently told it was sold out. We instead chose the mushroom ravioli from the specials menu. While the serve was a reasonable size it was only lukewarm, but given we'd waited some time to be served we chose to keep it rather than return it. We also found the environment very noisy.
Two of us ordered Porterhouse steaks, 1 rare, 1 medium. 1 hour later they arrive, we started our meals but noticed the rare is medium and the medium is medium-rare. The meals are taken back and excuse was the steaks got switched in the kitchen. Waiter asked “Can the steaks be switched”? ! Really, after we started eating the original steaks.! Then offered to re-cook, after waiting an hour already. Thanks, but no.
Attended this venue on a Saturday night with a large sporting group. Drinks and meals order at table, warm bread rolls delivered to the table, piccolos, ability to split the bill on a large table and best of all just a lazy two minute walk back to our accom at Showgrounds. What’s not to like. Take a bow. True hidden gem.
The food at this restaurant was inedible and way too expensive. I was very disappointed. The dishes were bland and lacked flavor. We went there for a birthday dinner and had to wait 45 minutes, only to find out that half of the menu was already sold out. Overall, the food was tasteless and not worth the price.
