Came in for an early dinner at 4:30 on a Friday. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived but quickly got busier. Service was fairly prompt. Cocktail menu has some nice specials, the lavender fizz and raspberry gin and tonic were both hits. We also shared the fried cauliflower and asparagus which were crisp and delicious. For entrees we has the burger, the rock fish tacos and the cheesy grits and shrimp. All three were wonderful and would definitely be recommended. Service was a bit slow, but overall good. The major downside to the experience was the noise between the high ceilings and the hard floor, the restaurant has a major echo and becomes extremely loud when full. We wrapped up...
This was our first time dining at Grit 2C and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was attentive and checked on us regularly. The atmosphere was pleasant, with just the right amount of lighting and noise level. They also had a few TVs on the walls for those interested in watching sports. The food was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised that I could substitute sourdough bread on my cheeseburger at no extra cost. My wife ordered the Turkey Club sandwich and was delighted with how tasty it was. The French fries were cooked perfectly as well. Overall, we highly recommend trying Grit 2C and we will definitely be returning in the future.
The food at this restaurant is delicious. The crispy cauliflower and squash appetizer is a must-try (unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it). However, the fish and chips I ordered could use some improvement. The service was excellent, our server was very pleasant. The atmosphere is fun, but it was a bit too loud for my liking. I will definitely return and bring friends from 1A. I wonder if there will be a Grit1A in the future?
I apologize for not having taken photos yet. I will do so next time. The Grit has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened. I commend them for consistently providing a great dining experience every time I have visited. I always look forward to stopping by. The menu is always unique and the food is delicious. The food was enjoyable, especially the poutine fries. However, the happy hour only offers well drinks which I do not recommend. The margaritas were the worst I've ever had. The waiter was pushy in trying to rush us out even though there was no one waiting to be seated. It's clear now why their happy hour isn't popular. They will need to improve their happy hour menu before I consider returning.
My son had the Grit Dip, I had the Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese (w/ham) and we shared the Poutine. Omigosh! The flavors! I really enjoyed the bacon jam and caramelized onions on my grilled cheese. The Dip had Chipotle Bacon Au Jus that was to die for. Go. Eat. Be happy.
You cannot beat the quality of food or service here! My whole family loves this place. The bartenders are amazing at their cocktails and servers are always friendly and quick! You can even grab their food to go! Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Caldwell!
