This place is fantastic, and the Mole was outstanding! It far surpasses Guelagetza—definitely not just a gelatinous paste! It was the perfect way to kick off our New Year's Day trip. The staff was very attentive. The only drawback is that you have to wait in line to order your food, then find a table, and finally pick up your order. It's a clean establishment with freshly made tortillas and great drinks. If you notice a little black dog wandering around, don't worry; it's the owner's pet that greets you at every table!
The tacos here are outstanding, and the staff is really friendly. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos or tamales on the menu. My personal favorites are the Chuleta en Chile Verde, Hongos con Cilantro, and Cochinita Pibil, but honestly, everything is delicious. The front patio is a fantastic spot to enjoy tacos and beers with friends. There’s also an adorable little dog that sometimes hangs around – he knows how to charm for food, but don’t be fooled by those cute puppy eyes; he’s already had more tacos than you!
I used to really enjoy Guisados, but I've been disappointed during my last few visits, whether dining in or getting takeout. The tacos seem mediocre now compared to a few years ago, and the ceviche was quite disappointing! There was more formato than fish, and the portion I received for my tostado was very small relative to the size of the tostado. I'd estimate it was only about a quarter cup of ceviche.
Tortillas made by hand, avocado already added into the tacos, some spicy options for those that can handle it, home-made drinks are very good. The tacos here are outstanding, made with freshly handmade corn tortillas. Everything we sampled was delicious, but I particularly recommend the cochinita pibil and the chorizo quesadilla. The horchata coffee was also delightful. The service was very friendly, and our food arrived quickly. This place is definitely worth a visit!
I love the food, but the tacos are getting smaller and more expensive. Five dollars a taco for how small they are seems outrageous. I get that there’s inflation and it’s affecting everyone, so I’m not necessarily knocking the place, but I’m also not going to eat there as often as I used to.
The food here is incredibly delicious! Whenever I have a craving for ceviche, I don’t hesitate to make the hour and 45-minute drive just to visit this place. The staff are all extremely nice and friendly as well. I can’t recommend it highly enough—1000/10!
