I've ordered from Gulp Jersey City five times in the past month and have been recommending it as our new favorite spot. However, I was quite surprised by the portion size of the Braised Beef Shank Bento I got today. I had the same dish just two weeks ago, and it was easily twice as large. The price hasn't changed, so I'm not sure what happened. I'm really disappointed and hope this was a one-time issue because I'd love to keep supporting this place. I visited Gulp Jersey City on a chilly, snowy evening, and it turned out to be the perfect dinner. We enjoyed the beef noodle soup, Lu Rou fan (braised pork rice), popcorn chicken, and apple sodas. The dishes at Gulp Jersey City were fantastic! Authentic flavors, delicious taste, generous portions, and reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. They also offer a daily special menu with great deals. Definitely a hidden gem in Jersey City, conveniently located near the light rail station.
