Came here for our first time after visiting the Sacramento Capitol building around 11:30. The reviews on Yelp as well as friend recommendations led us here and we were not disappointed! I've heard that this place normally has quite the line, but we were lucky to come during non-peak hours to plenty of parking, no lines, and still good amounts of seating outside. Upon entering, I loved seeing how Gunther's still had that vintage ice cream parlor feel with mint green colors, and old school tiled floors, and the old school menus up top. Customer service is very hit-or-miss here. Came here tonight since I live close by and was disappointed again. I ordered one item from the menu and was bypassed by people who ordered after me (with multiple items), making for a longer wait. After ordering, I waited inside by the windows and saw almost 10 customers who ordered after me, who sat down next to me, get their number called after barely a minute of sitting down. I watched and saw them call number after number with everyone barely having to wait (all numbers called were numbers who ordered after me). We stumbled upon Gunther's Quality Ice Cream years ago, way before I was a yelper. It never surprises me that there is always a line of people to get their ice cream or fruit freezes, 50-50 with ice cream. The also have sandwiches, sodas, coffee, milkshakes, frosts, freezes, etc. They have a few tables inside. They used to have more before the pandemic but no more. Plenty of tables and benches outside to sit at. Street Parking only. Their ice cream is creamy, rich, and flavorful. All their flavors are good, especially the Birthday Cake Ice Cream. This is a local favorite spot for ice cream. I was visiting relatives in sac. This is a must have for something sweet. Always a long line and all the tables are always taken so you know it's a good hangout spot during warm weather. We ordered half and half of guava ice with peach ice cream and mango ice on the bottom. We also got mango ice cream with mango ice and a cup of coffee ice cream. Every flavor is so good! This is the best place for ice cream and they never disappoint!

Gunther's never disappoints! Fruit freezes are always so fresh and made with real fruit, ice cream is delectable and not too sweet. You can tell they used quality ingredients! Easy service, you can walk up and order. I think there's online orders available now too. Overall, ambiance is chill there's only outdoor seating
We ordered all ice cream treats. They were packaged well to keep them all cold. The order was correct and not one of them melted on the drive over thanks to the thoughtful planning that went into it. Her other deliveries were not very close to where we live.
I love Gunther's Ice Cream! It is so delicious and amazing. I have been enjoying this ice cream since I was a child. My family has been visiting Gunther's since the 1960s.
This restaurant serves amazing ice cream! The pineapple coconut flavor and strawberry cheesecake are must-try options. The Oreo pie on a stick is also a fun treat to try.

The delivery is consistently well-packaged and includes all the items I order. I also love the delicious creamy ice cream served here.
The ice cream is always delicious. Creamy and doesn't melt very fast so by the time I receive it, it's still in a solid state.
