I've been wanting to stop by and finally got the chance when I was in Dallas for the state fair. Gus's was everything I expected and more. Ordered the special, two breasts, and two sides. The breasts were perfect, just the right amount of spice and crisp. It was soooo juicy and savory! Mac and cheese were also delicious. The lemonade was the perfect accent to compliment the spicy chicken. We were served by AJ and she was the sweetest server I've come across in a long time. She did not hesitate to make sure our experience was one of a kind. A must stop if in the Deep Ellum area.Parking: Paid parking but Gus's validates 1 hour of free parking while dining there.
I've ordered a chocolate chess pie for delivery four. Separate. Fucking. Times. They either cancel it or send me a piece. Order in the morning? They can't manage. Order at night? They can't manage. They DO manage to consistently make the driest chicken I've had from the four locations I've eaten from. Pathetic.Edit-Don't say I don't try to be fair. This is admittedly my first AM order from this location and it is definitely juicy and fresh. Maybe bad luck the three other times I've gotten food here later in the day. Y'all 1000% need to remove the whole pie option from any and all delivery platforms to stop deceiving your customers, though.
If you come to Dallas downtown ?, one of the culinary hot ? spots is definitely Gus's world famous fried chicken ?. I don't know how they are able to transform a good chicken into a perfect, tasty ? and excellent crispy world famous fried chicken. I believe it is a kind of magic ? . So if you want to meet up with the best of taste on this planet, come over and make your own best experience! ? But be careful!!! Once you try it, you never want to miss it anymore. Great food and atmosphere!!! Chicken is fried to order and is juicy and flavored all the way through. We also had the coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese which all were very good. For dessert we had the sweet potato pie and it was amazing.Parking: You will have to pay for parking upfront, however the restaurant will validate the spot and you will get a refund.

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING. So while I got a good photo of the food please don't let this fool you. The chicken wasn't alright. It was fried a little too hard and not seasoned enough. The mac n cheese tasted like it was made with cheese whiz or something. Itdefinitely wasnt a favorite. I will say the potato salad and okra were good but that's just not enough for me to visit again.
Went there with my son today and it was really really good. Ordered the 1/2 chicken and the tenders special. the seasoning was just right. Not overly hot, and had a only a small bite on the back end.Mac and Cheese was awesome and so were the fried green tomatoes and collard greens. Service was extremely friendly and we couldn't have had a more pleasant time.
Incredible chicken... great mac n cheese.. green tomatoes where freaking awesome! I am so not sure what they do to their chicken but its the absolute best bro.. no kidding... its the BEST chicken ive ever had! Im 51 yrs old... be careful tho... its superhot... burnt my lip.. WORTH IT!!!
This is BY FAR the best fried chicken in all of Texas!! Super impressed- the baled beans are great, Coleslaw and Mac n cheese are great as well! The staff is super friendly and accommodating!! Definitely recommend and we will be coming back! A lot!

Some of best fried chicken I have ever had and we also tried all their sides and they all were so good! I could not even choose a favorite. If you don’t have room for dessert it is a must that you take some to go!! You’ll thank me later
