This was my first experience at this restaurant, and I can honestly say there’s nothing negative to mention! The staff was welcoming and clearly takes pride in their work. The food was exceptional, with the chicken being possibly the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had—crisped to perfection with just the right hint of spice. The side dishes were impressive as well; the potato salad was particularly memorable for its unique flavor, which is uncommon since most have a tendency to taste alike. The food was served promptly and hot, so I had to give it a few minutes to cool down before I could dig in. Everyone here seemed genuinely happy. I will definitely return!
Let 's just start off with, finally an Gus 's Famous Fried Chicken in Downtown Phoenix. Connecting the dots to bring downtown back and people coming here to enjoy everything again. I 'm impressed with the setup and location and also being this is my firsttime trying it outside of the Memphis, TN area they did not disappoint. I ordered the 2 Piece White with an extra thigh, withthe baked beans and switch out the slaw for the Mac and cheese. Added a Sweet Potato Pie and chess pie. Make sure you come outand support this Historical Blacked Owned business. You won 't be disappointed!
I ordered the two-piece chicken meal, which included greens, macaroni, and sweet potato pie. The chicken was juicy, and the seasoning was perfect. This was my first visit to this restaurant; I typically go to Mrs. White's or another local spot that has lost quality since turning into a chain. However, Gus's offers truly good and fresh food. I highly recommend trying this place out. My only issue was that the sweet potato pie was a bit small. I don't mind smaller portions, but at $4, it didn't seem quite worth it. Overall, though, the food was amazing!
Each meal was meant to include either ranch or honey mustard for dipping. Unfortunately, our party of five was only given two ranch dressings. When we asked for more, we were told it would cost 50 cents. To make matters worse, we later discovered that the charge was already included on our receipt, even though we never received the extra dressing. While I didn’t want to make a fuss about it, I'll likely end up paying that 50 cents but won’t be returning, as the experience wasn’t worth it. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
A BIG thanks to Aniah for OUSTSNDING Customer Service the kindness shown was over and beyond amazing anymore I don’t get this kind of service it’s far and between so the way she cares for her customers is amazing the kindness, patience, friendliness above all for everything I wish we cld have her as our server everywhere we went out to ENJOY the full service. I visited this restaurant for lunch and ordered the chicken tenders, greens, mac and cheese, and fried pickles. The chicken tenders were sizable and wonderfully crispy, which I really enjoyed. The greens and mac and cheese were tasty too. The food was served piping hot, which is a sign that it’s freshly prepared.
The chicken had a nice spicy kick and a crispy skin, and the meat was incredibly juicy—absolutely delicious! The Fried Green Tomatoes were enjoyable as well. For dessert, both the Coconut Pie and Pecan Pie were outstanding.
