Amazing hidden gem with fantastic food and service! <br/ <br/ We came here for a Saturday night dinner together after feeling for some Turkish food, we decided to try here based on the rating and it being so close by yet never something we had looked at before. We called up Saturday arvo to see if there were any tables for later that night but to our surprise it was booked out but the young waiter who answered our call, asked if we would want a call back if a table freed up and so we put our name and number down and about 20mins later we got a call so we went straight there. <br/ <br/ When we got to the little strip of shops, it was actually hard to see the venue at first glance as its hidde...
This restaurant boasts everything you love from a family run place. The service is fast and friendly. The set menus offer such great value for money, but you will need to book for a Saturday night; there wasn’t a spare seat which tells you this place is excellent! There’s also a belly dancer Friday and Saturday nights around 730pm which adds to the fun. It can get a bit noisy which could make it hard to have conversations with a large group but we went as a 6 and no problems. There’s very limited parking out the front but there’s a parking on the side street (you may need to walk a short bit depending on when you go)
This place is like your favourite pair of slippers, nothing much to look at but brings so much satisfaction every time you slip them on with a perfectly cooked lamb shish. Been here over a dozen times over the years and the dishes are always consistently delish. Babaganush is the best I’ve had... I could face plant into a bowl of it every day of the week. Weirdly the Turkish bread is nowhere near as good if you get it takeout? But god it’s yum if you order in
Came here last night and had the $39.50 pp set menu. Was delicious! We received 7 dips with bread (more bread offered for free), dolma, Lamb kofte and cheese cigars to start. For mains there was shaved chicken and lamb, chicken and lamb cutlet and skewers of chicken and lamb, served with pilaf and garden salad. For dessert we had tea and Turkish coffee and Turkish delight and baclava. Obviously a family run restaurant-cosy and relaxed. Would go back!

It’s just a little spot on the Nepean near Parkdale but it’s packing a punch in delicious Turkish fare, think delicious dips, grilled breads and plates of wonderful meat!! It’s a no frills kind of place, BYO – simple and friendly. The menu is all the usual suspects and it’s pretty cheap and easy. Our bill was $150 between 6 and my birthday dinner has never been cheaper!!!
During lockdown I changed my eating out to eating in and I found this place for take away. Turkish food being one on my favourites. This place had heaps of delicious options to choose from and its tasted authentic and home-made which made the experience that much more enjoyable eating it at home. I'd definitely go back especially for those dips.
Guzel Istanbul does not look much from the outside, nor the inside for that matter, but do not let that put you off. If you are after delicious traditional Turkish food then you will not be disappointed! Guzel is also BYO.
Small family run restaurant. Food is amazing and service is great. Some of my favourites are mixed grill and chicken ribs. End your meal with some traditional Turkish coffee and Turkish delight.

A great little place to eat! We had the mini set menu which was really good value, everything we were served was delish! Particularly enjoyed the dips. We will be back!
What a great little find. Service is friendly. Food is yummy. Authentic (we are basing this judgement on the clientele). Bill was cheap. We will be back.
