A fabulous experience today! I took my friend to lunch at Gyu Kaku and it was his first time coming, my fourth exceptional quality food for a fantastic price that's hard to find anywhere else in Calgary, my friend greatly enjoyed his rice bowl I had the basil chicken and teriyaki ribye (or was it chuck? , the matcha tiramisu was perfectly balanced with earthy, bittersweet, floral, creamy with a trace of dark chocolate. Until next time Gyu Kaku! Y'all are rockstars!
While the food was good, the service was lacking. It seemed as though they were understaffed. From there not being a host at the door upon arrival, to slow service in beverage refills and advancement from one course to the next and grill replacement.
Great food and concept. Server was nice, but service was very slow. Often out of water, brought out a dessert for the birthday boy but didn’t take the rest of the guest’s Dessert order, Waited a long time to get the bill

Good food but terrible customer service. This is the fourth time I have been here within the last year and each time the customer service has been horrible.
one of the waitresses rolled her eyes at us for asking for a ayce menu, took over 1hr for us to even get food on the table
Food was good. The whole restaurant was empty but they put us sit close by the noisy group. Not impressed.
