Although it was a bit on the expensive side through Uber Eats, the portion sizes are generous and provide plenty of leftovers for the next day. I opted for the Special Veggie Combo, which comes with six different options, and it was more than enough for a hearty lunch and dinner, leaving me well-prepared for leftovers the following day. This is a wonderful restaurant and small but well stocked Ethiopian market. I am a huge fan of their vegetarian/vegan sampler platter. There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options available without needing to make special requests/alter the preparation which is great for those with dietary restrictions. In addition, they have gluten free injera for takeaway and with your meal.This isn’t a restaurant to go to for the IG aesthetic but the inside is spacious and clean. One of my favorite places for Ethiopian food in DC especially with low costs, good portion sizes, and incredible flavor. Recommend getting one of the combo plates for a good variety.One purchases the dishes at the counter, pays the bill, and then can sit at one of the tables before a buzzer tells you when the food is ready. It is usually quite empty as most people do takeout, and the tables seat 4, but one can easily move them around.Overall, very satisfied with the meal, the service, and the food!
First of all, the food was excellent. We had the veg deluxe, dry tibs and chicken. Yum. The bread was phenomenal too…. soft, spongey, and full of taste. Second of all, they had great service. All of the people were very kind. We got our food quickly. I just loved everything about it, and our family left with full bellies and smiling faces!
I’ve really liked the veggie platter I’ve had here. The dish in my picture has some meat in the middle that I didn’t really like but I loved everything else around it. My particular favorites were the yellow lentils, collard greens and spicy potatoes. The price is great for what you get, highly recommend!
