I loved our dinner at Habitué. It was a mild night so we sat outside which was just beautiful. It was fully booked out and they were very busy but the staff were great, turning on the heaters as it got later and attending to our needs well.We only had a few nibbles from the menu to share including the roast pumpkin and the cauliflower mac and cheese but everything was delicious. Not the usual stuff I would eat, but enjoyed it all the same. The menu is small and to me it was a little overpriced. Everyone seems to be doing the same thing at the moment with small share plates at big prices so I was a bit annoyed by that but I can't say the food wasn't good. We visited Habitue for a Mothers Day eve dinner with a family of five adults and a last minute booking. We were very glad we did. One of the specials of the evening was a slow cooked shoulder of lamb. It was delicious. The other selections were excellent, too. Roasted cauliflower, potato chips, roasted pumpkin. There was a decent selection of wine by the glass and beers and cider on tap. Excellent on all counts. Although the Candy Floss Martini is no longer on the cocktail menu, Giacomo readily agreed to make me one, which was fantastic. I love the Las Laxos white wine. The food here is invariably great, ranging from the sliced scotch fillet steak served with Cafe de Paris butter, the sublime shoulder of lamb, through the empanadas, the corn dish with paprika, and the charcoal chicken.Service is friendly, and Therese is always a pleasure to encounter. A welcome log fire was burning at Habitue this evening.I would highly recommend Habitué.
Visiting from SA, dined at Habitué with a group of 7. We ordered the roast shoulder of lamb to share between 5. It was the most tender lamb I've had, full of flavour. The others had chicken and steak and were just as impressed with their meals. You order side dishes separately with a wonderful range to choose from. We went to Habitue last Friday evening in a group of 7. We shared several dishes including the Octopus, grain salad, pumpkin dish, lamb shoulder, fish, beetroot dish and brussel sprouts. What a lovely way to share an evening! Open fire, great music, lovely ambience and enjoying delicious food with friends. Came to around $60/head and we were very happy!
Beautiful decor,open fire on a cold night, the friendliest staff and without a doubt the best meal I have had in quite some time. (Beef bourguignon: tender meat, beautifully seasoned with great balance of flavours; and a spectacular dessert!!) We went here tonight because of the really well priced Wednesday special; but we will no doubt be back!
Really enjoyed this restaurant. We followed the chefs recommendation and had the daily special which was served with a glass of wine. Cozy in winter and I can imagine that the alfresco is brilliant in summer.
Wow wow!!!! Best slow cooked lamb shoulder in years. Great wine list had the Alderton Cab Sav fantastic!!!!! Can't fault this place. Recommend it to anyone. If you don't like it don't grizzle to me. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Very happy that we visited here. The food was above expectations, especially the duck pie. Servings are large and sharing is encouraged. It was a bit hard to find though
