The waitress would come to our table a few times but I guess didn't notice me joining the table so she didn't ask if I wanted something to drink. My family used to frequent this restaurant for breakfast from 2003-2013. We returned this morning and found that it is now called Mike Mel's. Unfortunately, the changes were not for the better. The breakfast we ordered was subpar and disappointing. The sausage patties were undercooked, the home fries seemed to be pre-cut cubes, and the addition of onions and large fry slivers was haphazard. Additionally, my veggie omelette was supposed to have cheddar cheese but came with American instead. When I provided feedback at the end of the meal, the only response was to deduct the cost of the grits from the bill. Very disappointed in my meal, crabcake platter with nothing but a very breaded un crab like cake cake. Nothing like what they served in the past, no flavor. Served with a side of chicken salad which was OK, but it had been on the plate with the crab cake and put under the warmer lights. Ugg. Warm chicken salad. Tuna salad plate was OK, but no hard boiled egg and plate was basically empty. I am not planning on returning any time soon. Such a disappointment
This restaurant used to be great, but it seems like they are trying to improve. The coffee was terrible, and the food had no flavor. I had to use a lot of salt to add some taste. The glass for my soda was dirty, but I won't go into more detail. The staff also seemed unhappy. I left a tip only because the waitress seemed so miserable. Hopefully, they can make improvements.

The type of local diner experience you should expect to get. One of the only places allowing dine-in in the age of COVID, and great breakfast portions for the money. If you want fine dining , as someone else posted, don 't go to a diner. Plain and simple.
The breakfast service at this restaurant was quick and the staff was polite. However, the bus staff seemed young and the restaurant wasn't very clean. Unfortunately, my spouse's open-face turkey sandwich was served cold.
The French toast was on point, best French toast I've had so far, And the sausage patties are a little greasy but delicious. Coffee not so great but there applesauce tasted homemade yum
Love this place got a BLT on rye yesterday with fries it was delicious I tryed a price of chicken cheese steak sandwich and that was delicious as well iwill always come back

Food is decent but portions are small. The peas and dumplings soup is always tasty. Staff is very friendly.
Very good meal, reasonable prices and quick service. Very good daily specials too. Check for new hours.
