We held my husbands 60 th birthday party at the pub now renamed The Woodlands and what a fantastic night we all had. the newly refurbished pub was of extremely high standard every one of our guests commented on how beautiful the function room was. The food was incredible and they had prepared vegan/vegetarian separately all food was exceptional. The function room had its own bar and The bar staff were so friendly and kept a well stocked bar for all our guests. We went in today for tea with our two young children, my daughter ordered a lasagna and I had to send it back since it was dry and burnt due to being microwaved excessively! The other meals where edible at least but I quite difficult to get an all day breakfast seriously wrong! The staff where young but friendly and apologetic and offered to provide a new meal but at this stage the pub was getting very full and rowdy so we decided to leave with our meals half eaten! I can honestly say this was the worse food I’ve ever had, the medium rare steak was well done and dry and the fish was totally inedible, dry and over cooked!!! Same as the chicken on the roast dinner totally inedible dry like rubber and over cooked, The amount of food being sent back was terrible. Out of seven meals on our table 6 were left, The managers attitude is as awful as the food, refusing refunds for food you couldn’t eat. I doubt you would eat the food you cooked today!!! The carpets are filthy and the ladies toilets are disgusting!!!
We stopped by to watch a football game on a weeknight and decided to dine at this restaurant for the first time. Despite mixed reviews, we like to form our own opinions. I ordered the mixed grill and my partner ordered the steak with a jacket potato. The mixed grill was fantastic, and I couldn't finish it all. The steak with jacket potato was unexpectedly delicious. It just goes to show that you should always try things for yourself. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

This pub is excellent for families during the summer, thanks to the outdoor play area and football pitch. It has a great location, just 30 seconds away from the train station and taxi rank. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the landlord and bar staff are all friendly. I have been a regular customer here for over 20 years. They serve the best sausages in the North West.
Came here with my family and had a great meal, great prices for what we had and well cooked and presented, best steak I’ve had for a long time, asked for a blue steak but had to settle for a rare one but it was lovely, the apple crumble was delicious but too much to finish, I will definitely come back when I’m next down from Scotland,
This restaurant is fantastic for karaoke! The DJ is top-notch, and anyone who disagrees can stick to their bingo night. I haven't seen anyone wearing a tracksuit here, just people enjoying themselves and having a good time. Only boring people won't appreciate the humor.
Great pub, nice outside seating area and plenty of TVs The food there is a different story. 4 of our group ordered ribs from the specials board. They were awful, very little meat on and what was there was chewy and inedible.

Home from home, the welcome was as warm as the chilli was hot. 10 out of 10. I think I may well go again.
