This is one of the best tempura spots in town, although I really miss how beautifully the food was presented before COVID-19. I even shared a picture from 2015 to showcase how it used to look. You can place an order for takeout, but I must say, tempura doesn't fare well when taken home. It's far better enjoyed in the restaurant's dining area. If you're not comfortable with dining in, taking it back to your car is an option as well. The key to enjoying tempura lies in its crispiness, which diminishes if you wait too long to eat it. I really enjoyed the meal because I felt light afterward, which was surprising since I usually expect to feel heavy and oily after having tempura. The soba noodles were perfectly al dente, which I prefer. The tempura fried chili had a nice gentle kick of spice, and the pumpkin was fantastic—possibly my favorite tempura item. My only critique would be that the shrimp and fish had a slightly lower batter-to-protein ratio than I would have liked. I would willingly pay more for larger, jumbo shrimp with the same delicate amount of batter. Overall, great job to the staff! I would definitely eat here again when I'm in the area.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is delicious, and they offer a variety of options. The staff is okay, although there's not much interaction with customers. I usually order the jumbo shrimp (as shown in the picture), which is a fantastic choice for a quick lunch. It's not very busy during the week, so you’ll receive your food promptly.
The food quality is on and off, but generally good (it all depends on the time of the day you order it) Everything is hot and fresh but miso soup one time tasted bad. This was a disappointment. The tempura was soft and soggy, and not very flavorful. The miso soup was bland. The rice was bland. I mean, it was still fine and I finished it all, but definitely not going to order from here again. There are much better places in Mitsuwa than this.
The Takoyaki is delicious. Creamy batter, tender octopus meat, and lots of bonito flakes.I’ve had the tempura with rice set before but my main gripe here is the tempura is small and not crispy enough. Their soba is fine, you can’t really mess up soba noodles after all.
Have been there twice. Good Tendon. I like their fried egg, tempura white fish, tempura veggie and tempura eel. Tempura shrimp was not very fresh this time. Pickle was good. You can order your meal at the kiosk. And you can get the reward points
