A special Event in a special Restaurant. My Wife and I visited the Holiday Inn near Bolton town centre for a special birthday treat in early June 2016. We had pre booked a table in the superb Hardies Restaurant and on arrival we were quickly shown to our table by the very efficient young lady who looked after us all evening She was very attentive without being obtrusive, Starters were chosen, ordered, and delivered within about 15 minutes. Regular visitor lovely welcome from staff new menu so bit of confusion but soon managed to find something we both liked. King prawn cocktail starter £8 and chicken wings £6.50 main courses blade of beef £15ish and chicken with pesto £13ish only disappointment was drink service, hubby wanted a pint of stella and was informed no longer did draught no problem he got something else and I asked for a glass of house white (large). Before the main courses arrived hubby had a quick look at what bottles were available and low and behold Stella in a bottle so he ordered that and I got a second wine. We went here with family and had 5 different meals from their menu. Plenty of choice we varied from steak to burger. It was spotless with soft music in the background which set the scene. Wevwete greeted with 2 chaps who gave us a warm welcome and made us relaxed. My father in law said it was the best steak he had tasted for a while. My son enjoyed the American burger and the cheesecake. My wife had a chicken keiv my mother in law chargrilled chichen and I had the chichen madras. This restaurant is in the holiday inn Bolton. I had dinner on a Thursday night and it was very quiet, only myself and 3 people. I had the 2 course special, the portions were reasonably sized but the food was average at best. The restaurant has a beautiful dining area with a varied selection of buffet options for breakfast. They also offer gluten-free breakfast options if requested ahead of time. The service is exceptional and the evening meal was delicious. Furthermore, they provide a separate menu for gluten-free options.
The restaurant is a lovely spot with excellent service from friendly staff during breakfast and dinner. Prices are fair and the portion sizes are good. My only recommendation would be to enhance the variety of options at the salad bar, as it is quite limited.
The staff was fantastic, but I waited a long time for my food. I found it to be overpriced, especially since you had to pay extra for side dishes like potatoes or vegetables.

staff are so friendly, food is excellent right from starter through to dessert your cannot beat this restaurant.
