I was in the neighborhood and spontaneously stopped into Harlem Hops. I was lucky I did, because I had one of the best conversations about craft beer in a long time. If you are lucky enough to meet one of the delightful barmen/entrepreneur named, Roger, you are in good hand and are no doubt in for a splendid day or evening. Roger is the Real Deal and quintessential beer connoisseur. Needless to say, he really knows his stuff. Further, the venue has a nice atmosphere and the garden in the back is lovely. Lastly, the beer selection is eclectic and delicious.
Excellent beers on tap. Great selection of microbrews available under the bar. Beers change frequently enough to keep it interesting. Menu of brats, pretzels and spicy pies pair well with the drinks and are done extremely well! For those that don’t drink beer there are some wines on tap and a curated selection of spirits. The decor is classy but you’ll be comfortable no matter what you wear. Did I mention this is black owned? Def one of my new favorite bars!
I'm a huge fan of beer. I try to visit a brewhouse or two whenever I'm in a new city. In my first visit to Harlem, I stopped by this place with my best friend. I had an amazing experience. After trying a few tastes, Josh recommended a recent addition to the menu. Needless to say, the ever-changing menu leaves locals with a new experience and passersby with unique options. If you're in the city, I encourage you to go in.
Worth going out of your way to visit, wherever you are in NYC. We were tourists, visiting the city for five days this was the best bar we went to, hands down, no question. Incredible beer selection, knowledgeable and friendly bartenders, great snacks, good vibes. Underrated even at five stars take an evening, settle down and soak it in.
The best bar in New York City. Hands down. Excellent selection, kind staff. Kevin the owner puts his heart and soul into getting a great selection of beer and the draught list is always fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough you will not be disappointed. And get the pretzel!
One of the best places in the city to get a great craft beer. The selection is broad, the flavors are delicious, and the staff are kind and welcoming. Combine this with their philanthropic efforts, and this place is definitely a must try!
The place is perfect for a beer with some friends. They have a lot of beers, not only draft but they have cans and bottles to stay or go. The good is ok, good balance for the beer.
Great food, love the atmosphere! The outside patio area is a great place to hang out with friends. Super friendly service too. Sometimes the noise level inside can be a tad loud.
