I was in the neighborhood and spontaneously stopped into Harlem Hops. I was lucky I did, because I had one of the best conversations about craft beer in a long time. If you are lucky enough to meet one of the delightful barmen/entrepreneur named, Roger, you are in good hand and are no doubt in for a splendid day or evening. Roger is the Real Deal and quintessential beer connoisseur. Needless to say, he really knows his stuff. Further, the venue has a nice atmosphere and the garden in the back is lovely. Lastly, the beer selection is eclectic and delicious.
This is one of my favorite spots, although I don't get to visit as often as I'd like. The owners and staff are just as wonderful as ever. I recently hosted an alumni reunion there, and it was a huge success. Both the owners and staff were incredibly accommodating to our group's needs, which made for a memorable and enjoyable evening for everyone who attended. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great time in the village of Harlem, NY.
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in NYC. I've visited twice, and each time I've appreciated their thoughtfully selected beer list and the sincere, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Recently, there was a genuine mistake with my bill, but they went above and beyond to resolve it. There's nothing better than enjoying great beer with great people. Don't miss out on this place!
Worth going out of your way to visit, wherever you are in NYC. We were tourists, visiting the city for five days this was the best bar we went to, hands down, no question. The best bar in New York City. Hands down. Excellent selection, kind staff. Kevin the owner puts his heart and soul into getting a great selection of beer and the draught list is always fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough you will not be disappointed. And get the pretzel!
One of the best places in the city to get a great craft beer. The selection is broad, the flavors are delicious, and the staff are kind and welcoming. Combine this with their philanthropic efforts, and this place is definitely a must try!
The place is perfect for a beer with some friends. They have a lot of beers, not only draft but they have cans and bottles to stay or go. The good is ok, good balance for the beer.
