Harmony is a unique addition to Ottawa's asian cuisine.<br/ <br/ Harmony has a great friendly staff and is usually busy with student diners.<br/ This is how I discovered Chinese Hamburgers! Everyone orders them as an appetizer or main with soup etc.<br/ The Hamburgers come in a Chinese version of a pita pocket toasted very nice. The hamburger is loose not a patty and tastes like egg roll meat. It is topped with a green onion chinese salsa. If you order from Harmony 's 'Canadian Chinese Food ' menu, you 're missing what makes this place a gem, which is its traditional Northern Chinese and Sichuan dishes. Try the Black Mushrooms and Peanuts in Vinegar, the Stir Fried Green Beans, or the Vermicelli with Minced Pork (a Sichuan dish also known as Ants Climbing a Tree). Or try my favorite item on the menu, the Special Hot Deep Fried Tofu, which is richly flavored with spices and cilantro. The servers are friendly and happy to advise you. I would never have thought to try the Special Braised Trotters if not for my server 's recommendation.
Small hole in the wall mom pop shop, love it. First came in here on a weekday and the place was decently filled with mostly Chinese customers, definitely a good sign. I've only tried a few dishes here based on previous reviews and those items have been great. Harmony restaurant provides a more authentic cuisine, so come by if that's what your looking for. They do have lunch specials with more Americanized dishes (sweat and sour chicken balls etc... , but I've never bothered to try.
Everything was fantastic. The thick, luscious noodles had a delightful spiciness and were drenched in an irresistible cold sesame soy dressing. The lamb was extraordinary—tender and sliced thinly to maximize its surface area, giving it a slightly crispy texture, and enhanced with a blend of spices focused on cumin. I had a fantastic meal at this charming, family-owned restaurant. We ordered the lamb with cumin (their specialty), hot dry eggplant, and spicy green beans, all of which were delicious. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the pleasant experience. I really enjoy the atmosphere here; there are only about ten tables, making it cozy and inviting. Plus, it's affordable and offers great quality food.
DELICIOUS. Went there for the first time two weeks ago with my boyfriend and was in for a tasty surprise. The food is so delicious I went again this week! <br/ <br/ Very Vegetarian friendly and their menu has expanded from the one of the website. <br/ <br/ The tofu Yuishang is to die for. The hot and dry eggplant has little bits of coriander in it ! Please go there. The hostess/waitress is very friendly.
Fantastic!!!. They have amazingly delicious food and it's authentic (I lived in China for 6 years). Also it's cheap, I honestly worry that their prices are too low and they'll go out of business but they still seem to be hanging in there. Next time I go I'll make sure to write down the names of my favourite dishes (can never remember their exact names). Definitely go!
This is a classic, authentic Chinese restaurant. It may not be fancy, but the food is incredibly delicious. My favorites are the green beans, cumin lamb, and General Tso's chicken. There are many other dishes that look appealing, but I don't know their names. They do have a section for "American" Chinese dishes, but I prefer to stick to the other side of the menu.
