TRICKY place to find.. Once you do parking is adequate. The outside seating is more comfortable then inside but keep walking through the door to hosts table. You walk into a Old restaurant that looks like it used to be a house at some point. I would come back during the Winter. As far as a summer place. I'll stay with River Rock. Harpoon is very closed in. They need to open it up and cut down a whole bunch of trees to really enjoy this place. Sitting at the bar, was my first mistake due to the terribly uncomfortable seats. Was a great experience we had visiting Harpoon Willys. We went on. Wensday, in which they had a clam special that came with greenbeans and frid potatoes that we ordered as appetizers. It was definitely more than the 15 class that was said to come with, which was a nice added bonus. Personally, I don't think the potatoes added anything to it, but they were crunchy and tender. We did really enjoy the clams as they were a decent size too. My wife ordered a lobster salad that had a sweet seaseme dressing that complimented it nicely. 08/19/2023: Dinner for two: Salads, Day Boat Scallops and Salmon. Everything was well prepared and the service was above average! 07/09/2022: Dinner for 2. We started with a Broiled Scallops and a Grilled Brussel Sprouts appetizer. Entree's were Spicy Shrimp Pasta and Sesame Tuna. Outstanding! Nice little bar/restaurant on the banks of the Manasquan River. Some outdoor tables with umbrellas are set up for the nice weather, but we enjoyed our meal at the bar. There's plenty of windows to enjoy the view though. My New England clam chowder and ceaser salad were tasty and my lemonade and citrus absolute vodka drink was fresh and cold. My husband enjoyed his beer along with a sirloin steak sandwich. I'm glad we chose here to stop for a bit after our visit to Sea Girt lighthouse.

I have been to Harpoon Willy's several times and it never disappoints. We sat near the window looking out to the water and there was a fireplace nearby which gave it a nice ambience. Dinner was delicious. My friend and I had Buffalo wings, the day boat scallops with mushroom risotto and veggies which were both very good. The chocolate mouse cake was decadent and perfect too.
The indoors area of the restaurant, in the evening, is very dark, at a point where we had to use our flashlights to look at the menus. They had live music, which was really nice, but it was very loud and we were not able to talk without shouting. I ordered a Lobster Avocado wrap, which I wouldn't suggest, but my friends were really happy with what they got.
Daniel L, our server was really good. Non-stop with other tables and always made time to check on us. The food was solid. Dark and Stormy was good. I have been going to Harpoon Willy’s for over 25 years alway had a great burger. The last two times in I ordered a burger medium rare. When it arrived it was well done and very dry on a hard roll that was crumbling. I ordered a Stella beer which came in a dirty glass and was flat. Will never return.
