Harry Ramsden's - Tisch resevieren

This was a disappointing experience. Having experienced other Harry Ramsden restaurants around the country we felt we knew what to expect, however this was not the case. we hadn't booked in advance but easily secured a table as the restaurant was very quiet with only another three tables occupied. This surprised us given it was an evening during half term. The restaurant had all the appearances of being closed lighting was very low, the decor drab and the whole atmosphere was one of decay. We really felt for the two members of staff who engaged with us they were helpful and cheerful, but the environment they were working in looked unloved. Ordered a takeaway, which was ready 10 minutes after it should have been because staff were prioritising restaurant diners. Vinegar sachets weren’t available but after some persuasion staff put some in a little pot. Unfortunately they forgot to put in the sauce sachets we had paid for. The meal was ok, the fish was only battered on one side which we thought was odd and was quite long but very thin. For the price there are much better chippies in the area.

I visited this restaurant for afternoon tea and was pleasantly surprised by the unique menu offerings. Instead of the usual cakes and sandwiches, we enjoyed delicious fish in a bun, onion rings, chips, battered sausages, and battered gherkins. We also had some tasty desserts and drinks. The food was lovely and the service was excellent, especially thanks to Tara who was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back again.

I had to wait an unacceptable 20 minutes for just three orders of fries. There was no one at the counter, and I had to figure out how to order using a machine. The staff were loudly shouting to each other. The fries were both overpriced and of poor quality, with small portions and many inedible chips. This restaurant is a delightful spot to enjoy a meal, and they serve the most delicious fish and chips I've ever had. I have dined here several times, but the service my wife and I received last Thursday from Hollie and Emily was exceptional. Excellent job, you all put in a lot of effort. Thank you, girls.

We visited as a family of 3. It was awful! My son wouldn’t eat his battered sausage and chips after taking 1 bite and my burger was awful. Badly cooked, grossly over priced and not all what we expected from “world famous” fish and chip shop!

Chips ok everything else was overcooked rude staff and the ordering system is stupid as it was busy and only one machine staff didn’t seem Bothered if you ordered or not steer clear much better fish and chips in the other restaurants

Went for take away on 07/11/23 Cod looked like a sausage in batter tasted ok chips were hard and dry, my wife had Hake and chips which were ok. Could not recommend and will not return £20 down the drain. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Expensive prices, small portions on a scale 1 to 10 this would struggle to get a 3. We were very disappointed and would not recommend or visit again.

Great food and service nice kindly staff good food well worth a look. Price is good for the food and helpful staff.
