This is a Harvesters chain pub, so the menu is fairly standard. That said, the food was well-cooked and there was plenty of it. We were seated quickly, and our host took the time to explain the various COVID protocols in place. Normally, this would earn a 4-star rating: 3 stars for it being a chain pub and 1 star for the quality of the meal and service we received during this visit, which was good. However, I’m giving an extra star for the exceptionally helpful staff. We visited with an elderly relative, and our host made sure to accommodate our group by guiding us through the few steps to our table. On a positive note, the mini bread rolls were fantastic! The macaroni and cheese was good, and my burger was delicious, with tasty chips on the side. However, I did have an issue with the children's meal we ordered. We requested chicken strips with cheese and a tiny portion of broccoli. Instead, we received actual grilled chicken breast, which wasn't what we expected for chicken strips. I personally enjoy this kind of dish, but children often do not, so it ended up going to waste. Additionally, the portion of broccoli was too small; there was barely enough for a few bites.
Despite these issues, I would consider returning to the restaurant.
After hearing about the recent refurbishment, I decided to give the restaurant another chance. I used to be a regular, but the menu has changed, and some of my favorite dishes, like Fish Pie and Steak Pie, have been removed. I don’t understand the reasoning behind this since those items are usually popular. Additionally, I encountered issues with getting my Open Table points credited to my IHG account. I thought this would be a great incentive to support the restaurant, but unfortunately, it has not met my expectations unless they can resolve this issue for me.
absolutely outstanding service from our waitress Martina tonight. We were treating our newly arrived Ukranian refugees (mine and my daughters) and Martina was so attentive, patient and calm with everything and our new guests. She made us all laugh, made a fuss of our new guests, made us all smile and was so bubbly that we wanted to take her home

The staff are friendly, particularly Chelsea, and the vegan options are decent. It's not my top choice of restaurant, but it’s good to know there are a few acceptable vegan options available for when others want to go.

good value for money family restaurant. the salatable from which they can help themselves has a good choice and in the regular fresh, and the main dish selection.
I fully agree with the previous assessment. we have eaten several times in the harvester in dunfermline and have found the service excellent.
